Hello Mr. Jorge,
I apologize if you feel your son was not treated in a professional manner. The truth is you are getting a second hand account of what happened and I would like the opportunity to get the facts straight.
When your son came in to have his vehicle evaluated he had no idea that there was a problem with his clutch. We asked him a few times if he knew what was wrong and if he could describe what the problem was. He had no suggestions so we offered him a refundable diagnosis.
Our refundable diagnosis is very far from unethical. In fact the very point of our refundable diagnostic service is to be fair and honest with all of our customers. We shared with him that we would diagnose the vehicle for a small fee $49.99, but if he decided to have the work done it would not cost him anything for diagnosis. He declined having the vehicle repaired so he paid the refundable fee. It is called refundable because if you decide to come back I WILL CREDIT the fee back towards the cost of the repair. He understood that and asked if he bought the clutch would we do the labor. I told him absolutely we would do the labor portion and still refund the fee towards the repair.
Most shops would never offer to refund a diagnostic fee or agree to use a part that a customer bought. Please if you have any question or need reassurance call the shop (813)882-0020
Thanks for the opportunity to help you service your vehicles
