Not happy
Had the car extremely long , got is back dirty from sitting in the parking lot .
Was told I had a bad pan and gasket .
Paid $300 plus dollars to have it fixed and it wasn’t the pan .

1993 Ranger
CAUTION ABOUT USING THIS CAR CARE CENTER!!
I took my 1993 Ford Ranger to have the throw-out bearing replaced. My dad helped to arrange this work as he is a retired master mechanic and is familiar with this shop. I am a single working woman who knows little about the mechanics of a vehicle so my dad's help was a blessing.
When my dad spoke to Mike initially, he told him he was almost positive it was the throw out bearing. Because the truck is my only vehicle and to save time, my dad offered to pick up and deliver the part. When I spoke to Mike for the first time, he told me the part would not be covered under warranty. Since my dad had already picked up and delivered the part, I told him I was willing to take the chance that the part would not be defective.
So, yesterday, I go to pick up my truck and it will not go into gear. When I told Mike, the truck is not drivable, I was immediately hit with the warranty spiel. I asked Mike if the mechanic had even test driven it. His response was 'it shows here they drove it a mile'. When he called to tell me it was ready, he never mentioned I wouldn't be able to drive it home.
They did pull the truck back into the shop and determined it needed additional bleeding of the clutch cylinder. Even though the gears did not shift as easily as before, I drove it home. I was scared (not literally) to ask them again to help me because there was resistance when I asked them to look at the first time.
This morning I wake up and the clutch is practically hanging there. I was able to pump the clutch to build enough pressure to at least grind my way into each gear so I could get to work in St Augustine.
My dad, once again helping me, called Mike to say the clutch cylinder needed additional bleeding. My dad’s diagnosis was correct, it just needed the additional bleeding to be right. His response was 'they would not do anything more on the truck since we purchased part'. Now, I'm forced to take it to another mechanic for this 'additional bleeding' so I can safely drive the truck, without pumping the clutch like a maniac. :-)
Customer Service is so hard to come by today and we are all facing tough financial difficulties, I don't want anyone to have to pay for a job and then have to pay another shop to finish the job.
