I have bought 2 brand new cars (worth more than $60k in purchase price) and spent thousands of dollars to get my car serviced at a premium almost exclusively at Brandfon Hyundai in New Haven since 2012.
when i bought my 2019 ioniq PHEV they lied to me and told me that i needed to file the paperwork with the state for the EV rebate. As a result of this lie, i was unable to get the state rebate for my car. when i brought this to them to ask them to make it up, they told me NO.
Against my better judgement, i continued to service my car with them out of sheer convenience but vowed to never buy a car from them again.
I had my most recent car (2019 Ioniq PHEV) serviced on 9/22/23, and paid ~$250 to have the tires balanced & rotated, oil & filter changed, fluids checked, multipoint inspection completed.
I work from home, so do not drive a lot, and this car being a PHEV allows me to get around town and do 80% of my travel on the all electric motor but i have been noticing a growing oil spot in my driveway and had been noticing burning gas smell since the fall.
I checked under my hood today (1/17/27) and was astonished to see that my oil cap was not put back onto my engine and oil was everywhere inside the engine compartment.
I called the service department and spoke to a rep, who was told by the master tech that it's not their fault, and "the timeline doesn't add up".
I asked to speak with a manager, who told me that too much time had elapsed since my last oil change so it was not their fault and they didn't believe me that they were the last to service the car.
Since this is an advanced type of car, being a PHEV, i have serviced it almost exclusively (except for a recent brake job) with them.
I don't let anyone else touch the car. They have nearly destroyed my $35k car that i bought and serviced from them and told me they were not going to take any responsibility for this.
Also anyone reading this who is disgruntled and been wronged by these crooks, File a formal complaint with the BBB and to Hyundai Corporate.
