Hidden Fees!
The fact that this dealership is crazy deceptive. All I am trying to do is purchase a part for my Hyundai and they have somehow charged me $189 for the "full service inspection" which I did not ask for or know that they were doing. They told me I had to bring it in to purchase the part and yet conveniently leave out the fact that they force you to pay for the "inspection" (which again, I don't need or want) just so I can pay extremely elevated prices for labor (hundreds of $$ for 15 minutes of labor?!) and somehow $1200 for a part which costs $150 on Amazon. They are LIARS and thieves in my opinion. Don't come here or believe a word out of their lying mouths!

Avoid this place like the plague!
They offer a great price on a used car to get you out to Sycamore, and then they hit you with $2,000 in useless extras and they won't budge. What a waste of time. Avoid this place like the plague

excellent experience
Joey and Tarlan made my wife and I very comfortable with our purchasing experience. They answered all our questions and concerns. They also took special care to ensure that our used vehicle purchase was ready in a timely manner. We felt absolutely no pressure in the process. They were even flexible with the pricing point. I will definitely shop with them for my next vehicle.

False advertising
I was very disappointed. I was inquiring on the 2023 Palasade which was sent to me in an email from Michael. The price was listed as 53200. Also in the email it stated no added fees except tax and license. After talking on the phone with Michael, he informed me there was a $7000 above MSRP market adjustment. To me, that is false advertising at its finest. It was a complete waste of my time after I gave him all of my personal information.

Experience here was very good
Our car broke down on late Saturday afternoon when we were returning home to Minnesota. Unable to get help until Monday so spent the weekend in this town. We were waiting at the service door Monday morning. Was pleased when they took the car in right away.

Slimy, crooked salespeople
This place is crawling with exactly the kind of slimy, lying salespeople you are warned of. Was made to sign a contract under false pretenses. Salespeople stated that we were signing up for a credit builder program, where I would sign the contract and my boyfriend would make qualifying payments and in 6 months we would be able to transfer to his name. None of this is actually true and there is not such program is what we came to discover. We were rushed through the paperwork with minimal explanations and while we admit we should have taken more time on our end, we were blatantly lied to. These people also explicitly claimed they spoke to the car dealership my boyfriend’s previous car was purchased from and reached a “deal” for him to relinquish his car in order to purchase the new one without penalty. This is also entirely false and when we asked why we were lied to outright, we were told they have no idea what we’re talking about. Disgusting practice. Disgusting management who do not care about their customers - just their wallets. Be advised to look elsewhere.

New ownership
Everyone should give Kunes the chance to get up to speed during this 2022 transition period. They do need to dial back the sales force though. I've waited in the service lounge three times and every time a sales person came in, struck up a conversation and then tried to get me trade in my Hyundai which I love. Otherwise the Shop service staff is very knowledgeable and well trained. They explain everything in detail.

Surcharge for paying with a credit card
I had my 2016 Sonata Hybrid in to have some recalls serviced as well as an oil change, tire rotation and a new key fob. The service was good but I was surprised to be charged a 3% surcharge for using my credit card.
That is a deal breaker for me. I know businesses are charged by the credit card companies, they always have, but I doubt Kunes dropped their prices to make up for the surcharge.

I made a appointment with Sycamore Hyundai to address a recall and the check engine light, that just recently came on.

The service agent called me and said that it looks like wires had been disconnected or possibly chewed by an animal and that air filter needed to be cleaned out and changed because of possible animal making a nest. I agreed to have the work done for roughly $400, I was led to believe a lot of parts needed to be removed to reach these wires.

Then when the work was done the service agent informed me that they didn’t have to replace wires, but instead just connected three wires that supposedly were disconnected. So I basically paid more then $400 for them to replace my air filter and just connect 3 wires. At the time I felt the price for what work was done was extremely high, but if it fixed my check engine problem and if the wire connections were so deep into the engine that parts had to be removed to reach them, then I would try to justify to price in my mind.

I didn’t drive that much the day after but the second day on my way to my job the light came back on and had same symptoms it originally had when on.

I called the dealership back and told them that the light was on again and made another appointment. I wanted to confirm that I wouldn’t have to pay a additional $160 again for them to just look at the car like I did the first time for a issue that was never resolved. The lady I spoke to said she couldn’t promise that I wouldn’t have to pay again because the problem could be completely unrelated and new. I told her that the car was showing the exact same symptoms as before and that it was the same issue. She then said that when I left the dealership the check engine light was off and so they fixed it.

So yeah I’m really upset with the whole situation. I thought bringing it to the dealership would be expensive but at least I would get quality service, and it was everything but that. They seem extremely money hungry. I honestly doubt that cables were even disconnected and if they were then how come I’m getting the same symptoms now. I just feel like I gave them $400 for nothing and now based on what they said when calling them back it sounds like I would just have to pay more to fix what I originally paid them to do in the first place. I don’t trust going here anymore and extremely dissatisfied.
