The best mechanic in town
I love my car. Audi 15 SQ5. I love it so much I needed new rear brakes from all the driving. I went to JT after reaching out to multiple different locations. Was very evident that JT knew exactly what needed to be done from just the Yelp message communication. Others wanted to resurface the rotors which you cannot do on this car.

When I got there I wanted them to also check to see if the front brakes needed changing as well. I found them very honest that the answer was NO! Just the rears needed to be changed.

Price quoted/completed was the same and did it in just a few hours. NEW OEM parts. Really impressed with the honesty, service, and quality of work.

I will be back and recommend you check them out as well.

Seemed great at first, ended with shouting
I found this small but busy shop when I needed to get a friend’s tire patched and was nearby. I saw their ratings, and I figured I could not go wrong here.
Several weeks later, I brought my vehicle in to have some KW coil overs by MPP installed. I enjoyed speaking with JT, who seemed to be very passionate and caring about his work. Their price for the installation, ride height adjustment to 1 inch below stock, as well as alignment was $350, around half that of a respectable suspension shop.
I confirmed that they would be able to finish in one day – drop off the day before, pick up the day after. It took them more time than they thought it would, so they needed it another day. OK, no problem – I changed my plans and made alternate transportation arrangements.
When I got the vehicle back, the ride height was very low – substantially lower than I wanted and had originally asked for. No problem, JT and his brother said – bring it back if you still want it higher after driving it for a while. I did so a few days later, and JT raised it a small amount – still lower than I had asked for. These are the values specified by Mountain Pass Performance for the “mild” drop.
After JT did not feel comfortable adjusting the ride height to manufacturer specifications, I emailed a photo of the front suspension install to the manufacturer of the coil overs to verify that the installation was properly done. They pointed out that their directions had not been followed, and that an extra rubber piece was reinstalled from the stock suspension setup that was not supposed to be there. The manufacturer was kind enough to offer to speak with JT, the mechanic who worked on the car. After some time (JT said he would call the other gentleman, who never received a phone call), the coilover manufacturer was kind enough to reach out to JT directly. They spoke for some time, but it seems as if JT did not want to take advice from “some guy in Canada”. (He later stated that he did not like that I was calling other people / mechanics to discuss his work – “I am an ASE certified mechanic!”).
After some back and forth, JT agreed to correct the installation and said to come by today (12/8/20) at 4:00 PM for the work to be done. I asked if he would be able to finish the vehicle same day, and he said he would call back at 11:00 AM to verify, which he never did. I went by the shop at 4:15 PM, thinking that he had forgotten to call me back, but would honor his 4:00 PM appointment.
After waiting in the shop for 15 minutes, JT says he cannot to the work today – “look around – I am busy today, my helpers quit” (paraphrased). At this point, things headed south, and JT offered to refund my money. His brother stepped in at this point, and said he would not do that. After some shouting back and forth, JT and his brother ask me to leave “good bye – have a nice day” is a phrase that JT likes to say. I like that phrase; I might start using it.
On initially stumbling across this place, I thought I had found a caring mechanic that I could recommend friends and family to. I now have to take my vehicle to another shop (I’m not going to cheap out this time – in some things, you get what you pay for) to have the suspension removed and properly reinstalled, as well as have the ride height adjusted to 135mm.
Hopefully JT and I just had a personality mismatch combined with consistent communication problems, and others will have better results. JT does have a lot of knowledge, and he does care about his work – he just didn’t seem to be open to the possibility that he had made a mistake.
As is usually the case, there are two sides to every story. I am sure that JT and his brother will have different memories of the events. I hoped that I could walk out today a happy customer and shake hands with JT and his brother for standing behind their work, but that’s not always how things work.

Service
service was friendly and at a very fair price in addition to being conveniently located
i came in for oil change , and i got recently and they had it ready for 30 min only and also they did some inspection and give me a heads up on some other maintenance i had coming for future , which was much appreciated i ll be back for more service in the future

engine repair
I had my 1998 Toyota 4Runner worked on here. Spoke with JT to make sure that I understood their stipulations of their three year warranty as well as what work they were promising to deliver. I had a couple issues that brought concern after I received the vehicle back. Spoke with JT and he said, "bring it on by and we'll see what's going on" Sure enough, they found some things that weren't right with the engine. And they gladly upheld their part of their warranty, serviced my vehicle and delivered it back. These guys gladly showed me their operation from tear down, rebuild and engine work. After the engine work was completed, and after the break-in period of the engine, I took my family from San Diego to San Francisco with the new engine. Everything ran just as I expected

coolant leak
Came in with a bad coolant leak,JT and the team got me fixed up with a pressure test and a new radiator cap for a great price. Super chill, honest and fast service... everything you'd look for in a great SD auto tech. Thanks guys.

turn signal housing
This place is always providing the best service possible. Turn around time is quick and the owner is always happy to help. I brought in a turn signal housing to have them installed and went up to the north county thinking they might need a few hours to install it... nope! They did it pretty quick that I couldn't even make it back on time!

What's truly great about this shop is they don't try to sell you BS on what you don't need. They're straight to the point and give you the best prices. Thanks again for helping me out with my car!

check engine light on with front & rear brake and alignment
Mr Ron and JT were outstanding with the service provided. Searched several quotes before choosing. brothers auto repair
The reviews on google made me feel more comfortable with my choice.
So I dropped my 15'golf to repair and they delivered at the date as promised. My car is riding perfectly and I'm really satisfied with the results. Would recommend this guys to everybody. if yall looking for a great and honost mechanics, yall just found it.

Repair overheated

axles and tires
Highly recommend this shop! This place was recommended by my mom who also had a great experience and could not stop talking about it. I decided to give them a try and I must say I am pretty impressed. The owner is super knowledgeable and customer service driven. He truly wants to help his customers and is proud of his work/business. I did not even have an appointment and was helped immediately. I was able to get an oil change, alignment, and axel repaired within a couple hours and for a great price. I have finally found an honest and knowledgeable mechanic! I will definitely be coming back and continue to recommend to family & friends. Thank you!!!!

Not a reputable place to take your vehicle
I took my car in to this repair shop to get used tires. Over the course of a month, I had this knocking sound in the rear of my tire. They couldn't figure out what was wrong. The problem got progressively worse. I decided to go to a name brand tire shop to find out the problem. 2 of the 6 lug nuts were tightened. 1 of the lug nuts had broken off the stem. I could have died. Shotty work. Don't take your car here. Zero stars.. BOO ??
