Excellent service with people who know what they are doing

Very dependable and compassionate
For the last few years in Oakland County, I’ve been on a constant search for a trustworthy and reliable automotive repair shop. After going to dealerships several times and being ripped off or them charging ridiculous amounts of money and not coming through on the service end. Finally I have found a first class automotive repair shop. It takes the time to understand your situation and will do whatever they can to help you every step of the way. It’s a rare find, but I trust the owner and manager of this shop. They have not let me down in recent years. They do not charge too much for parts or labor. If you’re looking for a quality and dependable automotive repair shop look no further than the downtown garage.

replaced most of the front suspension parts
Subtle Clunk in the front end. Suggested replacement of shocks ball joints, and anti sway bushings. I also requested replacement of anti sway links. Problem is solved.

Kind and convenient
Brought my son's car in because the steering wheel was shaking. Also decided to get an oil change at the same time. They were able to diagnose and suggest repairs in a timely manner. The gentlemen that worked there are just that... Gentlemen. Love supporting local.

An honest repair shop
One of the most important aspects to consider when choosing a shop for car repairs is their honesty. Of course you want to have a competent shop - one with the skills and tools to do the job - but finding a shop that you can trust to give you an honest opinion about what needs to be done and how much it will cost is just as important.
I have found Downtown Garage to be that kind of shop. They have done work on my cars for a few years now and always give me an honest up-front estimate of what it will cost. More importantly, if they find during the repair that they don't need to use all of the parts that they thought they might need or that something doesn't need fixing that they thought was wrong, they don't use or charge for those parts or that work. They are an honest and competent shop, as well as being friendly and pleasant to work with. You can't ask for more than that.

Great service
These guys took my wife's car and put it up on the horse and checked it all out told me what was wrong with it but that they couldn't fix it so I was coming to pick the car up and I wasn't sure how much I owed him and I called and they said I didn't know them anything thanks again.

Mark and the guys did a great job repairing a few difficult items on my 14 Edge. Motor mounts, Y pipe flange gasket and front sway bar links on both sides. Good price for parts and labor in short time. 👍
