Henn Automotive opened its doors in January 1999. Since childhood, Mike Henn had dreamed of owning his own auto repair facility. His passion for cars and trucks developed into a business, when he was only 25 years old. He and his wife Susan picked the location, constructed the building and started with a staff of just two technicians. Henn Automotive opened its doors in January 1999. Always get a second opinion…
I wish to point out this is my personal opinion based upon my recent experiences at both a Toyota dealership and Henn Automotive. I was advised during a dealership oil change and inspection both my front lower ball joints were leaking grease. They took pictures of these ball joints along with the recommendation they be replaced immediately ($1180.75). A front end alignment ($149.95) was also noted as being necessary with the replacement of said ball joints. I did some research online regarding the test methods used by mechanics to determine if front lower ball joints are indeed bad. None of those mechanics used appearance alone as the deciding factor. I found no information from the dealership work order, other than the photos themselves, that any additional testing was done. It may be the one factor Toyota mechanics are required to use when making recommendations to customers. However, using this online information, I opted for a second opinion at Henn Automotive. This is their quote from the inspection: “…There is no play in front end, all bushings and boots appear to be fine. All fluids are satisfactory.” Keep in mind we were WILLINGLY allowing Henn Automotive to do the repairs if needed but were told the lower ball joints DID NOT need to be replaced. I purchased my car new at that dealership and had allowed them to service my Toyota for almost ten years. Moving forward, I will now be using Henn Automotive for all of my future mechanical needs.
