Trying to scam me
They fixed a problem with my turbo and when I picked it up the engine light was still on,but they read the code and it was a completely different code that was never there before they took it all apart. They did it and won’t fix it for free. Already spent over $4000 and they ruined something else. I took to a different mechanic and they agree with me. Absolutely shady. They also used all of my gas and left a half cup of coffee in my car. Where did they go to use three bars of gas ?! Do not trust them!

Needed Toyota highlander serviced and brakes checked
I have had excellent service with honest wrenches. But this time, to fix my brakes the bill would be over 4400 dollars. Thanked them for past work but couldn't afford that fee for a 2005 car. Went to a mechanic in saylorville asked for same brake service. Nothing wrong with back brakes. Fixed front brakes . 445 dollars. Will be switching to McCannics.

Dishonest Wrenches
I went for an oil change and tire rotation to honest wrenches. about 10 days later we lost one of the front tires on the car and almost had a terrible car wreck. Checking all the tires later we found out the screws hadn’t been put on tightly enough also not on the other wheels. Since I drive deliveries I do an awful lot of miles and when I got back to honest wrenches they told me the tire would have come of earlier, not after so many miles but yes with my deliveries I put sometimes 300 miles a day on the car and frankly I still don’t make any money. So honest wrenches cleverly declined to help us pay for the repairs, Not mentioning anything about their responsibilities and huge risk avoiding a terrible car wreck when the tire came off while driving.
Honest wrenches, don’t trust your life and car to them!!

Truck repair at critical time
Our truck broke down on the day before we were supposed to move on daughter back from college, and we really needed it. When I called them and explained the situation, they got the truck in right away and repaired it. They did a great, professional job. Thank you so much for going out of your way and bailing us out!

Asked them to repair blown brake line on old work car. No problem I was told. Quoted 2200 dollars to replace all lines and wouldn't make simple repair so that I could safely drive home. Wish they'd been more honest up front instead of hustling me out of 85 dollar inspection to refuse a simple repair on an old work car.?????real honest

Truly Honest
I can't say enough about this place. I needed to get some work done on my truck and these guys were available on a Monday morning first thing, gave me a loaner vehicle so I could get to work that night and were very transparent about pricing and issues that needed to be done right away vs those that could wait. I had previously gone to another place in the past but still had issues after spending an arm and a leg and wasn't keen on having to go to another auto shop. These guys made me feel very comfortable and not only explained everything that needed to be done but didn't do anything unless I agreed to it first.
I will use these guys for as long as I live in Des Moines!

Great service and timely
If you want cheap and fast, this is not where you want to go. If you want great service, quality parts, and honest opinions, then Honest Wrenches is where you need to go. They were very good at saying what things needed to be fixed, what I could probably do on my own, and what things could wait. With a job and kids the courtesy vehicles are just another way Honest Wrenches can serve you better. I can go about my daily routine, drop my car when it is works best for everyone, and the mechanics can take their time to perform the services correctly.The new electronic diagnostic report is great which is sent right to your phone and includes pictures and recommendations.
