I’ve been speaking with 5 other Hyundai dealerships in SoCal via call & email to shop around the best vehicle selling price on a 2022 Tucson SE to lease. First, I spoke with Christopher Valencia who quoted me on a $25,500 selling price (a $500 discount from my original best selling price). Sounds great.. right?!
He then transferred me to Eddie to break down the deal where Eddie tried to get me on a 48 month lease instead of 36 (way higher money factor), wanted me to put in a down payment (not smart on a lease), and told me the best monthly payment he could do was $500+. My previous quote from a different dealership (Westlake Hyundai) with a HIGHER selling price was $350... What?! Then I informed him on the current rebates and sales going on which he “forgot about” and even with my $2,150 discount it still didn’t end up anywhere near the monthly payment Westlake quoted me on. I asked him to send me an email with the quoted $25,500 selling price and his break down of the lease because I didn’t understand why his math wasn’t adding up to Westlake’s math. He said he would and we hung up. 30 minutes pass and nothing. I call him back, said he was “busy selling another car” and that he will send it right now. Another 30 minutes pass and nothing!
I give up on Eddie and try another salesman, Arthur. I explained the situation to Arthur and he said he would work on the numbers and give me a call back before they close. By the end of the night, NO ONE has emailed or called me back with any more information. I was basically ghosted.
The next morning, I call them again and asked to be transferred to Christopher. I explained the situation and how I was frustrated about how no one was emailing or calling me back about the original selling price he quoted me on and asked him to send me the email or in writing. He told me to “come into the dealership and he will print the quote” and I said I could not come in and I need the email. I swear I asked for this email 300 times and every time there was a different excuse. After going back and forth for a while, Chris said he could not do the deal he quoted me on because “the sales ended”. Now I know he is lying because every other dealership I’m talking to is giving the same rebates to me and even on the Hyundai website it says the sales are still running... I explain this and Chris doesn’t say anything else but that he can’t give me the price anymore. Why? No answer. Just can’t. I asked to be transferred to a sales manager, Hamid, but apparently he is in a “meeting” for an hour and he is the only sales manager. I called Hamid multiple times and left him voicemails and I never got a call back from him either.
This place is a JOKE and will say ANYTHING to get you in the door and still end up giving you the worst price possible. I ended up doing the deal with Westlake Hyundai and have never been happier. The entire team was so nice and informative, I ended up with $225 monthly payment on a new 2022 Tucson. Beware of Keyes Mission Hills Hyundai!!
