My name is Travis. I am the store manager.  I looked over the the work order, notes written on the original work order, and spoke with the service tech to understand what went on with your vehicle. After review of everything I be-leave we have a miscommunication between you and the advisor. The diagnostic done on you vehicle for your concern does not require the use of a scan tool. the technician used a pressure tester to put pressure on system to verify coolant leak location. The technician recommended replacement of both heater hoses that had coolant leak, and hoses soft to touch and swollen from original size. He also recommended replacement of the plastic water outlet housing due to dry coolant trails from under water outlet housing. (the water outlet housing is a very common leak location and the rubber gasket often shrinks, gets hard and leaks when we have very cold temps and re seals up when warms up) Lastly he recommended the over flow hose that mounts to the top of the water outlet housing. (the hose has a plastic end that almost always brakes when servicing housing) From many years of experience and the very cold weather when your vehicle was having issues. The technician recommended replacement of more than just the two heater hoses due to his visual inspection and experience working on the specific vehicle.
