Awesome Experience!
I had a great experience with Zahir. He had great product knowledge and really made me feel good about my purchase. He took time to make me feel heard. That meant a lot to me as a female who does not know much about cars. I felt valued and respected! If anyone I know is looking for a car, I will definitely be sending them to Maxon to see my buddy Zahir W. :)

Horrible Service Department
Since May 2024 the blue link in our palisade hasn’t been working. We have been to service numerous times and and each time they say they fixed it but without even showing us it is working they send us off. When we check we see that it has not been resolved and still issues. This is completely unprofessional and a huge inconvenience.

Horrible Service Department
It’s been since May 2024 the blue link in my palisade hasn’t been working. Numerous times we have gone to the service department and each time they say they fixed it but without even showing it is fixed they send us off and we see that nothing was resolved. This is completely unprofessional and a huge inconvenience.

I visited this dealership on 10/16/24 @ 7:30pm. The salesman got aggressive with me and used profane language because I asked for a breakdown of my sales price and the APR that was used to calculate my estimated monthly payment of $400. The “sales manager” eventually entered the conversation and was rude as well. He even said “we don’t sell APRs, we sell cars.” The best part of this experience is when I walked out of the dealership, they chased me out the door to tell me my APR was 8.49%. So they knew the APR the whole time but thought I was an inexperienced consumer. If you are looking for a transparent dealership then this is not the company for you. If you are desperate for a car and don’t mind blindly paying any price then go spend your money.

Great experience
I traded in my wife's 2020 Hyundai sonata, for a 2025. The experience was pretty smooth. This in fact my wife's third sonata. Over all, our sales person Kamille made the process easy. She was knowledgeable, about the vehicle. Most important my wife love her new white 2025 sonata. Great experience.

False advertising, then significant upcharge - nice try!
I visited the dealership the weekend to see a used car listed just under $17k. Nice car, very good deal and I was interested to discuss buying. I then asked what would be the total cost of the vehicle including taxes, licensing fees, registration so that we then could negotiate. The manager comes over as the salesman I asked would not provide the information. When asked he then said the total cost of the vehicle would be mid to high 20’s. For a used car being advertised just under $17k then adding another $10k on top without explanation of what they are trying to add to the vehicle means they were not being honest. A complete waste of time! I had also expressed interest in a new car once we completed the used car inquiry, but given how the first car I came to see was handled, I decided otherwise. I ended up visiting a different dealership to see another car, same price range, no games, honest breakdown of what’s included then a list of options I could consider if I wanted to add but not mandatory. This is how it should be done and what I was expecting. We agreed on a price, simple, car sold! Everything happens for a reason, the second vehicle I/we were meant to have!

Terrible!
I expect a certain amount of upselling and attempts to increase the price from a car dealer, but this time was much worse than I had ever experienced before. I will never go back again.
Maxon advertised a very good price on a used EV car for which I had been looking; the price was low enough that I would qualify for the “clean vehicle credit” of $3,750. I confirmed the car was available and made an appointment for a test drive. The car definitely needed to be cleaned, but the salesman said that could be done while we waited, and it drove well, so I said I would take it. That’s when the problems began; the salesman quoted a price that was more than $9,000 over the advertised price!
When I said that’s nothing like the advertised price, he tried to say that the advertised price doesn’t include $4000 for conditioning (which, remember, could be done while we waited), and that we weren’t eligible for 2 discounts (which were not mentioned in the advertisement.)
As if that wasn’t bad enough, during the discussion I pointed out that the price they were quoting was too high to get the “clean vehicle credit”, so they were asking me to pay not just $9,000 more, but almost $13,000 more on a net basis! When I brought this up they claimed to have never heard of the “clean vehicle credit”! Are these people really in the business of selling cars but they haven’t heard of the clean vehicle credit? Do they think car buyers are that stupid?

Leased a 2024 Hyundai Tuscon limited edition from Union Maxon Hyundai
Leasing an automobile can be a difficult thing to do with so many options and so forth. My salesperson, Kamille Gutierrez made the experience a joyful one due to her hard work in trying to get me the best deal possible and answering all my questions and just taking her time and not rushing me into something I did not want. She has the type of personality that a good salesperson needs to be succesful. I cannot say enough kind words to describe Kamille, but I recommend you ask for her if you are lookimng to buy a Hyundai at Maxon Hyundai Union NJ. I would also like to say that her boss Eric was very helpful in closing the deal. He is also a really nice person.

Glamorous Showroom/Poor Service
For anyone that has a Hyundai with the panoramic roof, I will implore you to Google "glass shattered between moonroof and sunroof Hyundai Santa Fe" and check to see if you have this type of damage. Unfortunately, if you purchased it from a dealer like Maxon Hyundai, who treats you great when it's time to buy a car, but when you need assistance with something that is clearly and noted as a manufacturing defect, they'll have their service advisor text you an embarrassingly unprofessional run on sentence to call your insurance to deal with it.

I called on a Monday to advise them about this. Someone on the phone stated they'd talk to their manager because this was not an isolated issue. They said just bring the vehicle by so we can look it. I asked if I needed an appt, to which they set it at the end of the week on a Fri at 10:30am. I bring the car in and Cory, service advisor, said it would be a 3 hr wait because they needed to do a recall also. Didn't offer me a loaner vehicle because as I learned later, they are for engine and transmission problems only. And I had to ask for an Uber ride home, as he didnt bother to offer. At 130pm I had to call to check on my vehicle, where a woman picks up and says "Please hold" and will not allow you to respond. At the 12 min hold mark i hung up and called back. She did this at least 5x. Finally got hold of Cory and says they're working on a quote and he'll call me back in 20 mins. NEVER called back. A 3 hr wait turned into over 6hrs and I received a text message saying that the Hyundai denied the coverage there was "little inpact" on the "glass pice". It's apparent they did not want to foot the bill because Hyundai denied it. But I would rather you say that, than to say a LITTLE IMPACT on the far right completely shattered the entire glass into a million pieces and split the glass OPEN on the left in a horribly written TEXT MESSAGE. Cory or his manager as "professionals" didn't have the heart to tell me to my face, or at least by phone, that they were not covering the damages that were clearly not caused the user. I didn't get the answer I wanted from them but the way it was handled was extremely poor.

In other forums I've read, drivers had the same issue with Hyundai warranty but their dealers treated them great and took of care it even though it was denied.

They threw so much money in upgrading the new glitzy and glamorous building and showroom floor with fancy sliding doors and merch, and show so much respect when it's time to buy a car. But truly lack on customer service, professionalism, and treat you like you're nothing when it's time to do the right thing, after spending thousands of dollars on one of their defected vehicles.

Hyundai has great cars despite this defect, but all dealers are not created equal. Maxon Hyundai in Union is a great example of that.

Sold a leased car with a bad engine
My daughter leased a car from this place she's had it for three years and still making car payments, in November of 2023 the engine check light came on, she took it to the dealership, and they diagnosed it as a bad engine they the car is under warranty we waited until after thanksgiving to check the status of how long the vehicle would be in the shop they had not ordered the parts therefore it had been sitting there for two weeks, later we checked to see how long would it be before she gets her car back, they were not clear on the timeframe. After having the vehicle there for three months they scheduled to get her a loaner vehicle when she went to get the loaner they told her that it was no good due to the check engine light. This is nonsense before they called her to say they had a loaner wouldn't you agree that they would have checked into that first and then told her the loaner is ready? She got all the way there and they told her the loaner had problems. Poor service, this place is not trustworthy, never again will I purchase or recommend anyone to buy or service a vehicle at this place.
