Thinking that it would only be the engine, I made the decision to fix it. My car remained in the care of Men in Motion for almost two weeks. When I received the car back, it started reverting back to the same old sluggish performance and I noticed that my oil dipstick was missing. As well, when I was driving, I started to hear a rattling sound - something from the engine fell off of the car as I’d been driving. I picked up the part and reported it to them.
I called Bob to inquire about this - he informed me that someone named Kevin - someone other than himself has worked on my vehicle. Frustrated and entirely overwhelmed as I’d already spent $2K on the car to replace the engine and give the car a much needed tune up - I was now being told that my catalytic converters were clogged up and I was still missing my oil dip stick.
The response was very dissatisfying; bob informed me that he could essentially knock out the catalytic converters or replace them, each costing additional funds, but replace the dipstick for free. My response was one of immediate investigation. How does a mechanic replace a car’s engine, but not check all of the pieces that are connected to that engine to ensure that it had been a successful install? I was given a non answer - instead told that his history with cars was that after replacing the engine, the catalytic converters were not an issue. That is insane, especially since every car is not the same, and every car requires a different touch. I was furious, I called my original mechanic and inquired about the fix. They advised me to return to the mechanics that had installed the engine because if there is a complication from the install, they should be the ones to fix it.
This is the only reason I am coming back to this place. Not only are they inconsistent with their performance, but literally someone in the shop is stealing pieces from other’s vehicles. I would not recommend this place to anyone, it resembles the essence of a chop shop.
