Midtown Center is the EXTRA MILE Shop
I recently had an experience at Midtown Center that started off a bit frustrating, but thanks to Mike Wildman, it turned into a completely positive one. From the moment he got involved, Mike went above and beyond to address my concerns and ensure everything was taken care of. His professionalism, patience, and commitment to customer satisfaction were truly impressive.

What stood out most was how he took the time to listen, explain the process clearly, and make sure I left as a happy customer. It’s rare to find someone who genuinely cares about making things right, and Mike did just that. If you’re looking for a shop that stands behind their work and has people who truly care, I highly recommend Midtown Center—and be sure to ask for Mike!

Did not recieve service paid for.
I paid for alternator and battery repair. The car failed on the highway in Connecticut 50 miles after the attempted repair, forcing an additional repair timeline of 5 days in another state and a giant headache.

When you contacted us and asked for your money back, we asked you to bring the vehicle back to us so that we could evaluate what may have happened, and you declined. As with all of our work, we stand behind the parts & labor of what was diagnosed and repaired on your Mazda with a 12 months, 12K mile warranty.  Please contact us if you wish to discuss further.

Amazing and Trustworthy Service
I’ve been a loyal customer of Midtown Center Auto Repair for years, even when they were based in Manhattan, and I can't recommend them enough. Mike and Essa have always been outstanding—knowledgeable, honest, and incredibly trustworthy. They explain auto-related issues in a way that’s clear and thorough, much like how I explain medical topics to my patients. Their ability to communicate complex concepts in an understandable way makes them stand out in the automotive world.

They offer a full range of services as an auto body and mechanic shop, from routine maintenance like tire rotations and NYS inspections to more complex auto repairs. Whether it’s fixing a flat, balancing tires, or providing in-depth diagnostics, Mike and Essa always ensure that the job is done right. They are open 7 days a week, which is incredibly convenient if you have a busy life like I do, and they’re always willing to work with your schedule to get you in.

It’s also worth mentioning that since they’ve moved to Long Island City, it’s actually quicker for me to get there from my Upper East Side residence than it ever was when they were on the West Side, which is a nice bonus!

The shop itself is clean, spacious, and well-maintained, with a comfortable waiting area where you can relax while the work is being done. The staff and auto mechanics are not only highly competent but also friendly, which makes for a pleasant experience. They even have a clean restroom, which is a nice touch.

Their integrity is one of the main reasons I keep coming back. I’ve always felt confident in their recommendations and trust that they only suggest what’s best for my vehicle. Whether you’re in need of a quick fix or a more involved repair, you can always count on them for honest advice and quality work. If you’re looking for a reliable, knowledgeable auto body and mechanic shop that treats you like family, Midtown Center Auto Repair is the place to go.

Best auto mechanics in the New York area
I've lived in New York all my life, and as a woman with a car I've always been wary of mechanics. However, one Sunday I had to have my car inspected on an emergency basis and I found these guys open and ready. Since then they are the only people I take my car to. They do a fantastic job on my 2003 Acura TL and keep it running perfectly. In addition, I've been treated with respect and honesty, and I've never had to bring the car back after a repair. The job is always done perfectly.

Mike was amazing, really helped out
My car battery died a block away and walked over to them. They not only jumped my car for free, but then immediately made themselves available to install a new battery (which I needed). Without asking they even fixed my tire pressure and recommended it was time for a tire rotation. Very clean shop and I was genuinely shocked at how nice Mike was. I haven't done many car repairs in my life so expected all car repair shops to be scummy, but it was the opposite!
