Learn from my huge, financial mistake and DO NOT purchase a vehicle here
If I could give 0 stars, I would. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM NORTH STAR OR HAVE THEM WORK ON YOUR VEHICLE.
This has been an incredibly frustrating and financially draining experience working with Northstar. We bought a van from them end of April of 2024. Van looked great minus the rear brakes which they offered to fix for us for free! Our experience in person was great and we left feeling awesome and quite impressed. They listened to our concerns and sold us an extended warranty in case anything came up in the future.
My what a load of BS that was. Immediately we had issues.
1. The panel behind the driver (which looked fine on the outside) had 50 or so holes that looked like it got shot out by buckshot? and then filled in with foam. No one mentioned this and hid it behind utility shelves.
2. They also sold us the van with no emergency braking system and didn't make this clear.
3. The "rear brake job" they did was actually replacing just the pads which caused us to have to pay to get the whole system replaced 3 months later ($1000).
4. We had to replace the back tires (not their fault) but had to pay $1000 for a mechanic to take off the tires because the shop that had replaced them before put them on wrong and caused issues with the lug nuts. This shop was Northstar when they did our "brake job"
5. AND THE KICKER. When we purchased the vehicle, we were concerned with a weird nose when slowing down and the rust on the rear underside of the vehicle. Both issues were "looked at" and we were reassured that they were taken care of and wouldn't be a problem. We just paid $5600 for the entire back suspension system to be replaced. The bunk warranty they sold us covered $400. TOTAL.
So within the 6 months we've owned this vehicle, we are out more than 7 grand (the van was purchased for 13k) and were sold a warranty that is HORRIBLE. And we only got to drive our van for 2 months before this happened.
Northstar dodges are calls or when they pick up they have excuse after excuse on why they can't help us or pushing us off to someone else.
The van they sold us was extremely dangerous to drive and the mechanics who ended up fixing it for us were extremely shocked that we didn't get in a very dangerous accident before we brought it in.
We also lost 3 months of our van just sitting in the shop while Northstar refused to take ANY accountability and help us out and while the warranty company did the same. We have lost so much money and COUNTLESS hours trying to get this resolved.
DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE HERE. They seem great in person, and they probably are okay people but their business practices are scammy at best and they don't actually want to be car salesmen you can trust, despite what their website says.
Learn from my huge financial mistake and shop anywhere else for your vehicle.
Kaiser, Abe, Adam, we are STILL hoping and praying that this can be resolved. Please make right with this situation.

I bought a 2007 Chrysler Town and country tour van from them in 2018 and just had my oil changed and back blinker done today bodda Bing bodda boom done in the two years I had the van I had other work done on it like radiator, battery.brakes and alternated.hose and just had new tires on for a reasonable rate. And Jeff,Jerry and staff are great!!!
Melanie said the staff members got her in right away. They got the vehicle back to her as quickly as they could and they were very nice. She stated she would like to thank them for the great work and for them to keep it up.
Kristen said she had to wait a long time for the parts to come in, and it was an expensive fix. Other than that, the service was really great, and the vehicle is driving excellently.
I've been having my vehicles serviced at Northstar since 2001. As always, GREAT VALUE, amazing service, and friendly enviornment. Very honest repair / service shop that I would highly reccomend to anyone in need of vehicle work. Very satisfied and loyal customer here.
