We did have your F-150, What We found was an extremely clogged cooling system. It was sooo bad that that all the coolant properties were gone and you had a muddy sludge of old coolant in your system. We found the Radiator was leaking as well. We Informed you the system needed a flush and the radiator and thermostat replaced. We Had to wait for a second Radiator to arrive from the distributor, because the 1st radiator that came in was broken. We were not going to install a broken radiator into you vehicle. We also had to perform 4 total 3 hour flushes on your coolant system, That's 12 hours of flushing your trucks coolant system. We only charged you for 1 flush and for 1 hour not the 3 it takes to do this type of flush. In this process of flushing your coolant system we found that your heater core was partially clogged. That is notated on your invoice. What that means is you have 1 more piece to fix unless the clog breaks free. If the clog in the heater core breaks free, we may need to do another flush and warranty out the thermostat. You were informed as things progressed. We found the truck had misfires when we pulled it into the bay to start on the coolant clogged system. We called to inform you of that issue and asked if you wanted us to look at the misfires after the coolant job was complete.
You said yes, But we couldn't give you an answer on why it was misfiring until we could fill the truck back up with coolant. The vehicle can not run without coolant to diagnose a misfire. You wanted your truck back quickly but we can not make things faster then what they are. Your vehicle was being flushed and waiting on parts for the 4 working days we had it. Day 4 when the truck had been running for hours waiting for the cooling system to BURP itself, you decided that you did not want us to diagnose the misfires. You just wanted to pick up your truck. So we did not diag anything that had to do with the misfires. Also noted on your invoice.
At no point did we have any starting issues, and it was not overheating when it left. You have more work you need to have done to that truck. That may have been the worst I have ever seen as far as clogged cooling Systems.
Starting/ power supply issue is not in any way related to the coolant system. When you called this morning you did not mention anything about the truck over heating. You just said that its hard to start. I said well lets get it in here and see whats going on and you said you were taking it to another shop. That left us confused at the bottom of your invoice it states that you have a warranty if you bring it back to us on work that was completed at this shop.
If you decide to take it else where for something we hold the warranty too then you void your warranty. I did tell you if you change your mind come and see me. Your truck was not an easy job and it has other issues that you were made aware of. I would be more then happy to see if your heater core finally broke all that build up - UP and is moving it through the system and you need another flush and thermostat under warranty.
I would have to diagnose a starting issue, since we never had any complaints of a starting issue. You also told us not to diagnose the misfires.
I hope you have a great day and hopefully you will stop by and have a chat, since we are still here to help.
