Alternator
$600 For an alternator is somewhat ridiculous, but charging another $600 to put it on is just theft by taking! They must think they’re building a house. Take the material price and double it. Last time I ever take my Hyundia to Tarr Hyundia. It’s been there 3 times now and the total is more than $6500. I knew better than to take it there but it broke down on the interstate last Saturday and I couldn’t find anyone else open to just have the car towed where there was a human at the business. Saturday afternoon, go figure why auto repair places are not open on Saturday. Tarr wasn’t either but their sales people were there to accept the key and tell him where to put it down. So it took 10 days and $1200 bucks to get it on the road.

Wonderful. Just wonderful
I was at the dealership on Monday 4/22/24. I worked with Chris Bond on purchasing a 2024 Hyundai Santa Cruz. Chris made the experience so perfect. This was the easiest purchase of a vehicle I have ever made. He was so helpful and knowledgeable. And the business manager was amazing. He was not high pressure, explained everything they had to offer and was very detailed in his approach. If you need a vehicle you need to consider Tarr for your supplier. Chris was overwhelming. Just did a tremendous job making me feel comfortable. I have some health issues and he was very sensitive to that. That was appreciated so much. Contact Chris for your next vehicle purchase. You will not be disappointed.

What should have been a minor service with a steering wheel turned into a $5 part with over $200 in labor ($100 a hour) and would not fully disclose how much time really was spent on the repair. I will never take a car back to this dealership.

GREAT Customer Service, Worth The Drive From Knoxville
We had an issue with the front door latch of our 2017 Hyundai Tucson which we had purchased used in 2021. I had the car in for service (I live in West Knoxville, but choose to drive to Morristown because their service at Tarr has been excellent (Thank you Dawn and all the service people) and they replaced the component to correct the door at no charge. I had spoken with Kevan Lee and told him I'd like to look at the new Tucsons while I was waiting for the repair....long story short, thanks to Kevan and Tommy (Sales Manager) they were able to make us a GREAT DEAL on a new Tucson and more than fair trade in on our 2017. Look...it's a drive to Morristown...a beautiful, stress free drive once you get out of KnoxVegas.....but so worth the drive to work with these awesome people. Thank you Tarr and your awesome customer service!!

Miss Katrina was our sales lady an she did a fantastic job putting me in the perfect vehicle at a great cost. She worked hard to get everything done an had me leaving in my new car! Go see her! Tarr Hyundai Morristown service department
Watch out for this place! I bought a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe loaded. Since my purchase they have done nothing but try and empty my pockets. Today I went for an oil change, tire rotation and get a key programmed for my car, they charged $249.79.
When I first called them they wanted $600.00 for the key fob, I picked one up online brand new for $65 dollars and tried to program it myself but they don't let people do that anymore. I called Hyundai and they said 75 dollars to program the key fob. Just do yourself a favor and stay away from this place.

Incomplete repairs, significant safety issues. Very Unhappy.
The staff was polite. That is about all I can say for positives.
Dropped off the vehicle to have "tire" light and check engine light evaluated. Also has winshield repair arranged by a glass company. (they found vehicle unsecured/unlocked on the rear lot)
Replaced all 4 tire pressure sensors. (Requires pulling tire off the wheel, then replacing sensor and then replacing wheel on tire, and then back on vehicle. Told MAP sensor bad. Total for this visit was about $1200. Picked up vehicle. Again, unlocked/unsecured. Wife drove toward home, called me due to "vibration". Close to home, so took to local shop for quick look, as Tarr is about an hour away.
1. Tires were not rebalanced after removal and reinstall.
2. Right rear tire was not secure. Lug nuts loose.
This fixed the tire problem. I called and spoke to Shop Manager. He asked "is there anything else I can do for you?" I advised him of the cost of balancing tires. (loose lug nuts corrected when reinstalled). He asked again, anything else I can do for you? I am not going to beg, if they don't want to pay for the balance/corrective actions I am not going to advise the cost again.
Next day, check engine light is back on. Will return to Tarr for this repair to be evaluated/re-evaluated. That will be the last time I use this dealership. We have had great luck with Hyndai locations previously. This is our first and last experience with Tarr.
Dropped off 12/5/22. Picked up 12/12/22.
If we receive an on line survey from Hyndai, this will just be cut and pasted.

Manager is a horrible person!!
The manager, Charity McDowell, was extremely rude to us, and not just to us as customers there, but also witnessed several times her being really extremely rude to her salesman’s.. I really don’t understand how someone like her, with her horrible attitude towards customers and salesman’s, can even be a general manager at a public place like that. Your suppose to ALWAYS have a great personality and especially be friendly and willing to help people. Instead she insulted us, and we was there to buy a car so first of all why would we when we got talked to the way we did by her, and second of all the way she talked to her salesman’s and kept putting them down.. this is not the first time I’ve seen her do this either and it’s extremely Unprofessional of her.. Does it not raise a red flag to the higher manager when her salesman’s keep quitting??? Or her firing people over the stupidest things that is not even a reason to fire them over all just because she’s in one of her bad moods?? I guarantee that your business will keep going down all because of her! I will not be back there at all, and I know several repeating customers has already quit too and won’t be back there either!!! Get your senses together and get rid of her!!!
