Affordable Comfortable Korean GM Car

Have had since brand new, cheap to buy, but with age, repairs are getting very expensive for a cheap upfront purchase. Wearable parts wear out much faster than expected, other parts that should last MUCH MUCH longer need replacing very early with low mileage on the car .

I like the simplicity of the Aveo

Bought this Aveo new in 2006 at the last gas shortage gas hike! I like that it doesn't have a turbo, it doesn't have GDI, it doesn't have a thousand computers running every single option in the car. It doesn't have a camera on every corner you actually have to know how to drive park and steer it on your own!!! A hell of a lot less to break and repair.

A 'Simple Car'.LOTS Of Interior Room.

Never thought i would keep a GM/Korean car over 11 years. But not having a car payment of $500 a month for 5-6 years, for a plastic laden, power everything crammed car, is such a wonderful financial relief. Bought it when gas first went up to $4 a gallon. Got the cheapest car at the time, with the least 'extras'. Only needed the needed comforts. Automatic trans, A/C, CD Radio, and thats it! No power everything. So when all those little motors go out, I don't have to fix them. It uses a plain old key to start! Not a power on button, costs hundreds to repair. A key is $3. Actual manual windows, no power locks, power seats, remote start. All stupid things that car designers are coming up with, for the dealer or mechanics to repair. Once that warranty is gone. Those things are not cheap to fix. I keep it looking brand new, keep up on regular maintenance, it has SO much head room and plenty of general room inside, the Hatchback gives it even more room. It will eat up CHEAP tires fast. But put on name brand ones, and they last a long time. No leaks of any kind at all in 11 years The only BIG problem with this car is you HAVE to replace the timing belt/water pump at 50K miles, or risk destroying the engine. A VERY poor design. And to replace those parts, is VERY expensive. But it is less than 2 car payments. It has more metal and less plastic than NEW cars. If you just do the regular maintenance to it, the car lasts and lasts. Wax it regularly, and it looks new,11 years later.

Rugged little car

Cheaply built but very tough. Not in production now. Interior is mostly plastic.

A Nice Simple Car,But Expensive To Keep Running.

I bought this car new in 2006. And still have it. Since it is paid off, and only has 34K miles on it, and looks like it just came off the showroom floor. I keep it looking and running in top form, why trade it in and have 5 years of payments again?. It has lots of interior room, easy to get into and out of, easy to drive, lots of glass for great visibility, easy to park, and can fit people over 6 Ft tall easily. No power windows, power door locks, or keyless entry, All things that burn out/break, or need replacement, and cost a small fortune to fix when the warranty ends. It is just what it is meant to be. A simple car to get from point A to point B. But by keeping it in great condition, it looks like a new car and looks nice getting to 'point B':) It is under-powered, but it isn't meant to be a Corvette, it is meant to be an economy car. It has adjustable front seats for firmness. I like the firmest setting, it is comparable to a small German sedan. Side Seat AirBags, Aice safety touch on a small car. While not the quality of a Toyota, it is average when it comes to repairs, and just as expensive. On a 1-10 scale, it is a '7'. Simple, easy to park, LOTS of interior room, my Hatch-Back version has a very usable cargo area, and fold-able rear seats that can be configured to be made flat, to carry very long items, and still carry people..A nice car not trying to be more than it is built to be.
