I bought it used from a friend 6 years ago. I did have some issues with the engine light. Finally got that resolved. It is now starting to burn oil. I really like it but the oil problem is a mystery.

Very Dependable Vehicle

My 2011 Equinox has just a little over 63,000 miles on it. Right now, the front end is badly damaged from a couple of wrecks I’ve been in. I’ve had it thoroughly checked by Mas Auto Repair and it has been deemed safe to drive. Other than normal wear, I have not had any problems with this car. It has served me faithfully for over 12 years.

I have been very happy with the Equinox model. I have owned 3 of them. Exterior noise is minimal. Riders comment on how smooth it travels. You can’t hear the motor running. Low maintenance record. Highly recommended.

It would be a great review, if only the 4 cylinder engine didn’t use oil!

My 2011 Equinox is fairly reliable except my car has 90,000 miles on it and I have had to replace the master cylinder on the brakes, and recharged the AC twice. Biggest complaint is that the 4 cylinder model uses oil between oil changes, so I have to replace a quart of oil about every 2,00 0 to 3,000 miles.

Money pit

We have had to replace a lot of parts that cost a lot of money. The vehicle has barely over 100,000 miles and burns a lot of oil. It is a sturdy vehicle and is roomy but I don't think that makes up for all of the negative issues.

Love it

This is my 3rd Equinox. I feel it is very reliable. It has needed minimal repairs, besides the normal maintenance. I love the quiet engine. I have an LTZ model. It allows for some extras. I have some rust to repair but PA uses a ton of salt in the winter.

Love my Equinox

This vehicle has been a 10 for me. It has a great style to the look and I love the white exterior color. I love the ride it gives - great storage in the back . I faithfully maintain it and hope to have it for many more years.

Engine

I just want to let everybody know that I read comments and the bad engine is the eco 2.4 cylinder 2011-2015 which no reviews I have read said this which makes the review to include the v6 which is a good engine the 2.4 is oil consumption and that can be repaired per a lawsuit filed if the engine meets the criteria of the repair mine did not it came to late I had to many miles also if you live in states that use salt i the winter be ready for rust the steel used to build these is very thin

Junk engine ruins everything

I would be in love with my equinox LTZ - great look great feel, great features- if it wasn't for the known junk engine Chevy put in it. Excess oil consuming engine with no low oil indication warning. Multiple online posts of blown engines because of this and that includes me.

Extended Warranty is Great

I’m glad I’m bought the 5 year extended Warranty on this vehicle. It’s paid for itself already. We’ve had three separate expensive issues and the extended warranty has paid for them all. Bottom line make sure you buy an extended warranty.

Love my equinox

Love my equinox! Only problem I have is my airbag service light has been coming on for a year. Checked connections. A lot if complaints but no recalls. Rides and handles like a dream. Would highly recommend.

GREAT FOR A REBUILT

I needed a larger vehicle due to health issues getting in and out of a vehicle and this is a great SUV. It is a rebuilt and its older but so far the gas mileage is great, the ride is roomy and I like the confidence I have being in a bigger vehicle for snow storms.

Garbage

Had to replace everything on the pile of junk except transmission! When that happens and trust me it will I will have a brand new car basically! We have changed everything from the engine down to the heater actuator! Pay for the car and extra warranty for warranty to not pay for a damn thing. Hell even recalls and there is many, somehow we ended paying for parts of it!! NEVER will buy again thats for sure. AND we will NEVER buy from Scott Chevy again. A place that holds keys to car like its a hostsge til I paid for check engine light check, and because I decided to wait to fix over $2000.00 worth of problems they wanted me to pay a fee! I sat in showroom in tears until my son called with his credit card info. All stuff that had to do with engine recall, of course warranty wasnt responsible and the day after warranty ran out dealership said engine needed to be replaced!! Ended up spending over $5000 for new one and told over and over by Chevy my chevy wasnt covered so I couldnt be refunded. So dissappointed in Chevy altogether. We have always had Chevys, currently own Equinox garbage and 2011 Camaro, we will NEVER buy another one after our experience with these two cars! If I could give a negative number I would.

Love my Equinox

It is easy to maintain, strong and faithful on the road. It is easy to maintain but to have the best performance with any vehicle one should always maintain. Even after a long period of sitting the vehicle started right up with no problems.

Reliable Transportation

Had tires put on. Gets great mileage. Doesn’t have enough seat space to put in multiple car seats ? safely. Tried to put two car seats ? and a booster seat in the bench seat ? impossible. They also tip or lean.

Decent releable car

Car drives well but has some blind spots between the windshield and the side windows. Also the model year (2011) that I have has a horrible back up camera view in the review mirror. The side mirrors are best when backing. A friend has a newer model year that has a back up camera display on the dashboard that is much better.

Nice suv

We brought our equinox used. It has been a really nice vehicle to drive. Plenty of space for its size and handles really good. We have leather interior which is comfortable. 4 cylinder engine is weak though. Overall I like the vehicle

Repairs are breaking me!

I have more money in this car then I have ever put in a car in my life. I can't afford to get another car so have to keep repairing it. New transmission, new catalytic converter in last two years, $5,000. Now motor mounts, shocks etc.

Reliable

Our Equinox has been the work horse of the family. Long miles in heavy traffic, heat and cold weather conditions. It is comfortable and loaded with many options. I would purchase another. It seats 4 large adults and has ample cargo area. The 2LT is a good value.
