Terrific car; fun to drive
I have a 2018 G80 Sport, red. Good grief this is a fun car to drive, and it has all the safety features you could want, including a fantastically complete heads up display. My previous car was an 2014 Audi A6 TDI, and truthfully, I loved that car more than a person should like an inanimate object. I would have kept it forever, but alas, it was totalled in an accident. The G80 Sport gives the Audi a run for its money in performance, and gives a great, fun driving experience. Acceleration is great, handling is very good (Audi cornering was a bit tighter, but not wildly). The Genesis controls are excellent, and significantly better than the Audi (maybe I never thought like a German :-)).
You won't get Audi TDI gas mileage out of this car, though. I actually get a little better mileage than the Genesis sticker, so it's not like I'm surprised by this. And we also know that Audi had its issues with diesel engines here in America, to the extent that you can no longer buy them here. But the drop from 40 mpg on the highway to 25-ish is noticeable. Also noticeable, though, is that the G80 Sport is more than $20K cheaper than the comparable Audi (and Mercedes, and Lexus). So this is a heck of a car at a nice price.
