Don't know why Honda dropped the line. Put a turbo it or a V-6 . 300 horses all wheel drive find a traffic light and a wrx see ya subie you lost to a shoe box.hey I might be 65 but It's a 60's muscle car guy trapped in the 2000's.

Honda element

I really love and feel safe in my element. Things I would change: back windows would come down, dash lights would be brighter in daytime, I would have a skyroof in front (it is in back), and wish it were a little better on gas mileage but, hey, it's an suv. I call her my snub-nosed lil cutie

The little toaster that could!

Everyone always refers to this vehicle as a toaster. They joke and call it square and ugly. Then I show them what the Element can do and I leave them shocked! With water resistant seats that fold flat into a bed and split to fold up against the sides of the cab, the possibilities are endless! Polyurethane flooring provides easy clean up off whatever may be tracked in. This is no powerhouse with it's 2.5L iVtec but it gets the job done. The ride is stout but the handling is incredible for such a tall vehicle. I would recommend for any adventurer! AWD is an option too!

Best vehicle, ever!

Unfortunately, the engine went out at 170K. It was the best little puddlejumper I have ever driven, for about 6 years. Just not worth putting another engine in the critter, though. And, really too bad Honda stopped making them, too!

Perfect car for us

So disappointed that they will not be making them anymore. We have a 2005 EX AWD with the sunroof which we love. Want a newer one but that's apparently not possible. The sunroof is wonderful for our long road trips as we have a memory foam mattress in it and we sleep in it. We call it our "hard shell tent".

Great Vehicle for around town

Too bad they discontinued it. The box shape and unique seats allow large objects to be accommodated. Fun to drive but a little noisy. Gets about 23 mpg in town as high as 28 for highway cruise. My car has a 5 speed manual that is great to drive but could use a 6th speed (engine turns about 3000 rpm at 60 mph). Versatile, reliable, fun to drive, it's a Honda! Even big guys fit inside but only seats 4. Has the best headlights I've ever had on any car. The EX version includes a 300 watt satellite (XM) radio that is difficult to match even with an after market radio, The doors are weird. Basically a two door but there are two smaller, reverse operating doors that open the sides of the vehicle up making access unbelievable.

My dependable, versatile Element

I have hauled shrubs, plants, mulch, etc with no problems - very easy to clean up interior for transporting people - several trips to the midwest - dependable and comfortable - love the 5 speed manual!

I love my Element and would buy another in a heart beat. It's too bad they quit making them. It's the most practical vehicle I've ever owned. And the standard transmission is fun.

I love my 2005 Element

My husband has been after me to purchase a new car for the past 5 years. I love my Element and refuse to get rid of it. It has all I want in a vehicle. Tons of cargo space, it's comfortable and no rattles. The only complaint I have is the visibility is not good and I have learned that I have to be extra careful and specially aware of my surroundings. I love the fact that it turns on a dime; a great advantage in parking lots.

Everything I Want, Nothing I Din't Want

The "Elephant" is my daily driver, beast of burden and dog limo. It's a myth that you can hose it out when it get's dirty, but I do clean it out now and then with a broom. But why bother? It's just gonna get dirty again tomorrow! I usually have the back seats folded down with a tarp and a dog bed over them, but I often fold them up and put a couple bikes in back, or haul a load of brush to the disposal site. I bought mine with a hundred thousand miles on it, and at 116k it runs strong and I'd drive it anywhere. With a five speed manual, it's a blast to drive.

Excellent styling that will stand the test of time.

Superb!! Good on gas, maintenance cost is affordable, it is reliable, fun to drive, my daughter likes to ride with me, because she can see everywhere while in her car seat at the back. The interior design is lovely, spacious and comfortable. The engine has no transmission issues.

I love my Element!

Front seats are easy to get in and out of. The car is built high so one has a great view of the road. Fun to drive but definitely not a luxury vehicle - rides like a truck, especially if you're sitting in back. Fabulous adaptable storage space. Easy to clean out. Good mileage. Great on highways AND good over rough roads. Stable in bad and windy weather. Sure wish they still made these! I have a 2005 with low mileage but need replacement front seats.

Why aren't these made anymore?

I love my car SO much. I will never let it go. I have 196,000 miles on it and it has kept me safe and sound during two wrecks (1) a woman hopped up on pills pulled out from a stop sign right in front of me 2) a suicidal deer ran into the side of my car one night. I love that it has no carpet and my husband and I can haul the dogs around and not feel like we have to vacuum an entire car because of it. Its great for us because we are both tall and the Element has plenty of head room. The suicide doors can be problematic when you're in tight parking spaces and have folks in the backseat needing to get out. Its a little noisy driving on the interstate, but that all pales in comparison to the awesomeness of this vehicle!! HONDA NEEDS TO BRING THEM BACK!
