Amazing Value

The characteristics of value are simple, what something is worth to you compared to the cost. The Hyundai Elantra provides a low price, low maintenance vehicle with a high standard of driver experience. The interior is well designed and spacious, as well as the exterior being stylish and sporty. The ride is comfortable in every aspect of driver or passenger. The driver has a cockpit like feel without feeling crampt. All the controls, and displays are well placed with a great aesthetic. The vehicle rides smooth and gets good fuel economy.

Great Car!

I now have 108,000 miles on my car and have never had a repair other than routine maintenance. It has great gas mileage, handles like a sportscar, has great acceleration and is reliable. Couldn't ask for a better vehicle! Highly recommend.

Big small car.

Everyone that gets into my Elantra comments about the extra leg and headroom. I have driven many same size cars yet they are limited in interior space with some being difficult to enter and exit. Not so the Elantra. You get performance yet very high fuel mileage. The trunk has a very spacious compartment There is much interior storage as well in the doors, console, & glove box. The rear seat fold down allows extra cargo space for large items. On traveling the interstates I have gotten 41 mpg per tank full except for mountains and high wind when it may drop to 36. I have driven luxury cars that may allow for more creature comfort, but I have never driven a car that combined enough comfort with so many amenities anywhere near this price point that also delivers very high mpg..

A joy to drive.

I bought my Elantra in 2011. Since then I have driven it 165,000 miles. It is just such an easy car to drive. The only thing bad is, the steering tends to get sticky on long drives where you do not move the wheel much. In researching it, I have found it is a common issue with electric steering. Other than that, the car is quite roomy inside for someone that is over 6 feet tall. I can go on long trips and stay comfortable. My other car (not a Hyundai) makes my back and legs hurt after about 4 hours. I am hoping to keep my Elantra till 250,000 miles or more.

Nice Little Car, Really

I shopped 3 other similar cars but something about this car just grabbed me. It's a little bouncy, no spare tire and road noise is a bit pronounced, AND I'm 6'5" but I fit. Nice layout of controls and dash. Looks good, too. Comfortable. Moon roof is the best.

Economical, comfortable, glad I purchased it

I was not intending to purchase an Elantra. I was looking at comparable models from 2 other big name auto makers (both Japanese). But when the salesman pulled up in the 2012 Elantra, I had a feeling, this was the one. Mine is a 2012 with the "tech" package -- Bluetooth, XM, GPS screen, moon/sunroof, fog lights, iPhone compatibility, leatherette interior, and some other stuff. Purchase it certified used and really am happy with it. It handles better than expected, has more legroom than I expected, and I really like the "Shiftronic" transmission with both automatic and manual "sport" mode. Having driven manual transmission cars most of my life, there are moments when I prefer manual mode. One thing I will change -- when these tires are ready to be replaced, I will not get the low-profile design again. I feel every pebble I drive over. They may improve gas mileage, though -- my Elantra has given me the best mpg's I've ever gotten at 39.6. Not bad at all. I definitely recommend the Elantra to anyone shopping for a family-sized 4-door sedan. The 2-door model looks nice, too. The wagon model looks cool but doesn't seem to add much trunk space.

This is my 1st Hyundia but not my last!

I have,so far, only had only a minor problem with my Sun roof ,which only required an adjustment. This car has never made me feel sorry I bought it. It has a bit of road noise but I would expect this from a car at this price point Hyundia has come a long way in quality since their first cars. Others have complained about the fuel economy, but I averaged 45 mpg on a trip from Virginia to San Jose California cost me 265 dollars for fuel for about 2900 miles. I sure see nothing to complain about there. What more can I say I love this car. T.he great warranty was another reason I purchased a Hyundia, best warranty out there!

Good car

Car is pretty spacious for it's size. Engine is pretty powerful for a 1.8, 4 cylinder. Transmission is a bit jumpy and ride quality has decreased over the years. Check engine light was on because of a programming issue on the computer from O2 sensor. Nearly 60,000 miles and the car sometimes smells like bad eggs, must be the catalytic acting up. When I bought this car I did so because of warranty and gas mileage. We all know about the gas mileage and the fuel cost reimbursement program (what a joke). The most I get is 32 mpg on highway out of 40 claimed. Overall it has been a good car.
