The little car that could!
I used to drive a full size truck and while it was a nice truck, its reliability and fuel consumption led me to move on to something else. While I was looking around, I happened upon the Hyundai Elantra. The fuel ratings were excellent, and several people I had spoken with prior to my decision to look into this vehicle gave it great reviews as well. I purchased mine back in July of 2011 (2012 model) and haven't had a single issue with it yet. I am 6'-3" tall and was concerned when I saw that the Elantra was more of a compact car. Much to my surprise however, after getting the driver seat adjusted to where I was comfortable, I was still able to sit in every seat in that car with no real issues for clearance. Along with the roomy interior, the exterior of this car has a nice and sporty appearance to it as well. I have had no issues in getting up to speed to match traffic when getting onto roadways as this car has plenty of get-up-and-go for me. Even after all the time that I've had my Elantra, I still find myself looking at the MPG calculation that I'm currently getting and can't help but feel better about my decision. I had to travel quite a lot for work recently and no matter how many miles I threw at my Elantra, it only performed better. Back with my truck, the main advantage that it had was the ability to haul a lot of stuff, but even with my Elantra, I can still carry quite a bit in it with room to spare. I am beyond happy that I found this little gem of a car so long ago, and I don't plan on getting rid of it any time soon.
