Good value but an accomodation
The car is fairly comfortable, pretty fast (4.6 V8). I think it is a pretty good looking car even if the design cues have been borrowed from Mercedes, BMW, Lexus and Infiniti. Combining the styling cues produces a car that is actually better looking than most those serving as inspiration.
The car is fairly hard riding and it doesn't take a huge dip to have it bottom out. Road noise is quite obtrusive. My sisters 1996 Lexus with over 250,000 miles is quieter on the road. Part of that could be due to the Pirelli P Zero Nero's as they are a performance tire, but even on brand new pavement it seems noisier than I would expect.
One annoying characteristic is the transmission's tendency to get confused if you have to stomp on it from a stop to get out in traffic and then let off--the transmission seems to go huh? wha? what gear am I supposed to be in?
The power is impressive for a large sedan and the car is roomy. Overall, it is a nice car. Not a great car by any means but nice. My previous car was an Audi A6 twin turbo which was a passion inducing car but, being German, just got too expensive to maintain after crossing the 100,000 mile mark. But it did make me smile every time I drove it and the Genesis doesn't. Unfortunately.
