My experience with my 2010 Hyundai Genesis
This is the best car I have ever owned. It's comfortable, has a lot of power and fun to drive. However, as it's getting on in years with 85000 miles, I've had problems with things that I didn't expect to break. I've had to replace 2 tire valves at $250 each, which I considered expensive. The electronic door lock system failed and needed to be replaced. And the alternator failed after 75000 miles. A few years ago, while still under warranty, I needed a seat replaced because the seat warmer didn't work and I needed the trunk latch replaced because the old one would not engage. The rear camera sometimes works and sometimes it doesn't. The dealership told me that the camera needs to be replaced, which would cost me over $1,000, so I just live with the problem. We also own a Subaru Outback. It's not nearly as comfortable, fancy and fun to drive and the standard engine is a little underpowered. But, it is a workhorse and much better built. We generally trade in our Subaru's at about 200,000 miles and the only repairs we encounter are fine ups, brakes and tires; i.e., normal stuff.
