Excellent vehicle

I have no complaints with this car. Very good mileage with no problems. Has more than enough power and really good styling. I recommend purchasing this vehicle. Couple all this up with a excellent dealer, Lester Glenn Hyundai, Toms River, NJ and you cannot go wrong.

Love this car

Our Hyundai Ionic Blue Drive car is the best car we have ever had. It averages about 52 MPG, but we live in the mountains so even though it's a little shy of the 59 MPG it is advertised as having, it is understandable and acceptable. I use it for work and I have to travel a lot so it truly has been a money saver on gas. We just really love this car.

600 miles per tank!

This car sips gas! I bought mine used and have been super happy with the comfort of the ride, love the warm leather seats, the safety features and especially love the gas mileage. I really do get about 600 miles per tank! I did have an issue with the check engine light coming on. Had a faulty gas cap/filler neck. That was replaced and I'm good to go!

Great MPG, comfortable ride, not bad price, needs better tires..

Car is great and performance is amazing. MPG is amazing. I only fill up like once a week. Roomy for bigger people. Rides great so far. Tires need to be better on this car. I only got 20k miles out of 60k miles tires!!

Great Little Car

I say little car but in reality it is extremely roomy for both passenger and cargo. With in excess of 50 mpg I could not be happier. I am a previous Prius owner and like this better for features as well as the sportier look.

Great mileage

The car has taken some getting used to. It is my first hybrid. But the ride is solid and quiet and the mileage is spectacular! Starting and parallel parking can be exciting as power at low speeds is a little unpredictable.

Great Car-Excellent MPG and Fun to Drive

I've had my Ioniq for a year and 5 months. I've made two long trips and getting such great gas mileage make it worth the purchase alone....HOWEVER....It's more than just a Hybrid with Great gas mileage. It's really fun to drive, has lots of power and holds up to highway as well as rural and country road driving. My trip to Colorado and 2500 driving miles was GREAT! My second trip to Washington...The money I saved on gas was incredible......I averaged 50mpg on each trip and that included mountains, HWY driving at 75mph and around town drives as well! What are you waiting for......Buy one and see for yourself just how much money you can save, The money I save on gas is about half a car payment......What a DEAL!.

Hundai Ioniq

Great efficient car; very comfortable and very quiet, huge fuel economy, get 55 mpg and full tank 600 miles range. I m blessed. Car has ability to pick up speed quickly, no trouble climbing hills, Apple play so convenient and so great, for the cost it is the great machine you could buy, a great engineering and workmanship. I have shared my views to my friends recommended them. A great savings in gas.

Last car for me

The MPG is as advertised and can get 55-58 city driving with a light foot and not many stop sign or traffic lights. I have gotten up to 63 MPG On the freeway from Anaheim to San Diego several times. Lots of road noise.

Love it

The car is by far the best car on the market, but it still doesn't get the mileage it says it should. At best I pull 49mpg. I don't know why google maps doesn't come through on navigation. I don't know why the windshield wiper works the way it does, it's confusing. I can't figure out how to preset my seat preference. It gets stuck in the mud very easily. Road noise is not comfortable.

Love this car!

Great style, and amazing ride; it does't even feel like a hybrid. This car provides a nicer ride and better gas mileage than my previous car, Toyota Prius. I could not be happier with my decision to purchase it.

Love My IONIQ!

I absolutely love my IONIQ. Great ride and comfort, roomy with good visibility. The most awesome aspect is the 58 miles per gallon! I fill-up once a month for around $25. It has tight steering and handles corners great with the wide wheel base. Love the hatchback with lots of cargo space, and even more when folding down the rear seats. Lots of leg room and comfortable when traveling long distances. Climbs like a champ when going up I-70 west out of Denver; no heavy shifting from the transmission, amazingly smooth. Even better...Hyundai offers a lifetime warranty on the battery and their overall bumper to bumper warranty is the best in the industry.

awesome mileage in the warm weather

Awesome gas mileage ~55-57 mpg during the warmer months. Bought in June. Was disappointed in winter when I only got about 43-45 (I know, don't feel sorry for me!). Kind of odd not having a spare tire (better mpg that way) and that's ok with 5 year roadside assistance. But after that? Have to use AAA and the "fix-a flat" kit they now give you. Car has pretty good pickup and love the sport mode from the dual clutch which allows me to zip out into traffic without fear of hesitation as some hybrids seem to do. However there is a little hesitation when stopping and starting without time in between. Meaning I stop at a traffic light and if the light turns green while I am stopping, the car does not get going right away. Smooth roads are great but get on a rough road (I drive into Baltimore City daily), the car shows you all the bumps. Could be a little smoother ride. Also VERY loud annoying noises happen when driving on the highway with the windows open - especially the back ones. Wind noise is overwhelming. Roomy fold down seats are handy for transporting large items. I HATE that I cannot open the trunk with the remote! I don't understand the function of the fob button if it doesn't open the back hatch. Not much knowledge at the dealership about Ioniqs so I had to ready the manual to learn. Not sure why I cannot have the numerical MPG readout on the speedometer - only available in kilometers. Can get MPG in another display but not where I would expect to get it. Suggestion: create a video tutorial for new owners. Very disappointed that I could not remote start this car. I was told I could when I bought it. Had to PAY though to join BlueLink. But when I called, they told me my car was not eligible for this service. Salesperson should really have known that. Super disappointed since I had that in my previous car. Heated seats kind of make up for it...Also had a lengthy "campaign" (not a recall) which took my car out of commission for 5 WEEKS since Hyundai did not have the parts available. Waited over a week for the dealership to provide me with a loaner car (they seriously suggested I could get a rental and they would pay for about 75% of the cost!). Only found out by coming in for my first routine maintenance - NO letters, NO emails, NO phone calls to contact me about this potentially dangerous issue. So dangerous, even though they did not have the parts, they advised me NOT to take my car home; that I had to leave it there until they got the parts. If it was that dangerous, someone surely should have contacted me!!! Emailed, sent fax, sent letters to service dept and headquarters. All I got was basically, "Sorry".

Ioniq, What a car

Love my Ioniq. I have been driving it for a year now and have absolutely no complaints. Take it from FL to Philly about 3 times per year, great ride and the gas mileage is amazing. Highway driving at about 80 miles an hour anywhere from 48 to 53 miles per gallon. Driving around town 55 to 60 miles per gallon. Sometimes I forget I have to fill up. Really great pick up to get on highway. Small car with plenty of room. Can't ask for more.

What I expected

I have had my 2017 Ioniq Blue for about 10 months now and I've put about 21,000 miles on it. It has performed as I had expected. The ride is pretty comfortable, I have a 80-mile round-trip commute for work five days a week, mostly on the highway, and I find it drives pretty nice on the open road. The seats are decent, not the most comfortable I've been in but not horrible. A little on the firm side but way better than my previous car, an '09 Honda Fit. The seating position is decent, you can see a bit of the hood which helps give you a little bit of spatial perspective while driving. I find the visibility out the front and sides is good. The split rear window takes a little getting used to, but I found I got used to it very quickly. I find the armrest on the door and the center armrest are both positioned well and it is pretty easy to get comfortable as far as your arm placement goes. There is no "oh-sh!t" handle on the driver side, which is one of my only complaints as I sometimes like to hold on to that and let my left arm hang while I am driving. Not a big deal though, after driving the car for a few months I didn't really miss it too often. I don't really think about it much anymore. The transmission feels a lot like a manual transmission. I came from a manual transmission car and I notice a fair amount of similarities between how I shifted gears and how this transmission does that job. This one definitely shifts more smoothly from gear to gear than I used to. All the comments in the reviews about hesitation off the line are true, there is a discernible delay when you step on the gas from a standing stop. Unless you really need to get moving for some reasons in those situations, I haven't found it to be a problem at all - just a characteristic of the transmission that you get accustomed to. Putting the car in sport mode in those situations greatly reduces this issue I have found, so for people who want to launch from a dead stop that may be something they can try. For me though this hasn't been a real issue I've had to worry about since I do about 80% of my driving on the highway. The layout of the radio and climate controls, steering wheel, etc. is perfect. Very logical and easy to use - there's almost no learning curve in this area. I drove several Hyundais (Sonata, Elantra, Elantra Sport, Elantra GT) before I settled on the Ioniq. In every case, I found the interiors to be excellent in just about every respect. I find the exterior styling to be conservative but good-looking; I feel they will age very well. Modern-day Hyundais remind me a lot of what Honda was producing in the late 90s - good looking, comfortable, reliable, very easy to use cars that you knew would last you a long time (I owned a 97 Accord and a 99 Civic). I have been getting anywhere from 50-60 MPG, depending on weather and driving style. Usually I am in the 53-58 range, with better numbers in the warmer months and a drop-off when the weather is colder. Overall I have been very pleased with my experience with this car.

Great commuter

This car is great on mileage. I get between 55-60MPG freeway or city! Comfortable and has the feeling of a much more expensive car. It handles well and has plenty of pep. The only downside is that the batteries take up room in the back - the trunk isn't as roomy as other cars this size.

2017 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid

I love my vehicle and just found out it has a 5 star safety vehicle rating. I had someone hit me from behind. Because the car is made to give at the bumper instead of smashing the car inito the back seats I felt very safe. Just an added feature beyond the great gas milage. I have been able to get my car up to 90 miles to the gallon. On Average 65 - 70 miles to the gallon. So glad I purchase this vehicle and thank you all at the Suntrup Hyundai for the great service you provided especially Frank Roach Gratefully yours...

how did they think this car was ok to drive?!

The car constantly jerks when you accelerate!! It’s a hybrid! It’s supposed to be a smooth quiet drive!! This car is the opposite of that it’s disappointing!! I thought it’d go away after driving it for a while but nothing! If I could take it back I would! The car jerks even more if I don’t drive it for a day! Just horrible!

We now own 2 Hyundai Ioniq vehicles

We purchased 2 Ioniq cars in the same week. A 2017 and 2018 Iconiq both great cars. The most comfortable car I ever owned. The ride is very quiet. The style of the vehicle gets comments where ever I go.
