AV Unit is Broken
I bought a brand new 2023 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy in April 2023. After driving for 1 month, the problems began with the multimedia technology. The dealership diagnosed the issue and said the entire AV unit needs to be completely replaced, but cannot be ordered and repaired for several months, despite it being under warranty. I was told the AV units are on “back order” and was essentially told to “just deal with it” until then. The radio on the screen and all of the radio knobs, buttons, controls, and switches do not work at all. AM/FM radio, tuner knob, media button, etc. are all completely nonfunctional. The screen glitches, flickers, and freezes anytime I try to press any of the buttons for the radio. I’ve had the vehicle 90 days. When I asked for the dealership to provide me with a vehicle that was fully functional in its AV capabilities until they could fix mine, I was told they wouldn’t do that, because my vehicle “worked just fine mechanically.” Apparently their only interest is making the sale and after that, you’re on your own. They also only seem concerned about providing you with a vehicle that is functional mechanically, but not a vehicle that is fully functional and works as advertised during the sale process. This shouldn’t be happening. I haven’t been made a priority at all by the dealership and/or Hyundai. They have been very non-communicative and seemingly unconcerned about my car’s issues. There is still no end in sight and I have no idea if/when they will ever repair this. I’m now exploring my options to determine what my legal recourse is. The vehicle overall is nice and has some great features for the price point. However, this radio issue and the lack of care and service received during the process afterward has made the entire experience awful.
