Mostly meets expectations.
I've looked at and desired a Sante Fe Sport for a while now and I finally pulled the trigger on getting one. I figured I could get a pretty good deal with lots of rebates on a 2018 since the 2019 is about to debut and it is an all-new refresh. They've gotta get rid of the '18's, so put them on sale. I've alway liked the styling and exterior features of the Sport. Daytime runners are nice. Lines all in the right places to make the vehicle look efficient and compact while still allowing for ample room inside. My base model just has the 2.4L 4 cylinder, but I've never been much of a power guy. I usually have been more concerned with efficiency. Unfortunately, this vehicle misses on both counts. Acceleration is nothing to write home about and fuel efficiency is lackluster, as well. Neither point was a deal-breaker in my book, though. I guess you could say I'm more about style over substance when it comes to cars and that's why I've liked the Sante Fe Sport. On the plus side, the cabin is well-appointed, even though many have said it's look is getting a little long-in-the-tooth. For someone who's never owned one, that's pretty much irrelevant. Materials are better than average. The ride is soft and sufficiently quiet. All in all, it's a crossover that I believe I will enjoy for years to come.
