Gas mileage is unbelievable

My Sonata 2011 SE 2.4 gdi gets a solid 35 to 37 mpg. Others I have read about get no where near that but looking at alot of driving styles it is no wonder. The only difference I can see is only the SE has 18 in. Wheels. I can get an honest 40 mpg if I drive at 55 mpg. Marty

Owned my Sonata for almost 8 years, longer that ever owned a car in 59 years of driving.

I have always been happy with my Sonata. I first fell in love with the body style and bought it the first month it was out. But except for a problem with the auto ignition system which was resolved after a couple of mis-tries, I've never had any other problem with the vehicle. Chapman Hyundai Service stayed with me until that problem was resolved.I have owned it over 8 years. I considered buying a new car last year but decided to stay with my Sonata for another year or two. Five years is the longest I had owned a vehicle in the past, 2-3 years more commonly.

Best car I ever owned

I leased a Hondai Sonata Limited Edition in 2011. Because I NEVER had an issue, I chose to buy my car when my lease was up. 7 years later- still by far the most reliable and comfortable car I ever owned.

Love everything about this car

Had planned to keep it for ever, and would if I didn’t have health problems that causes me to need a higher sitting car.having right leg problem makes it sometimes a struggle to get in and out my car,but I really love my car the Hyundai Sonata are awesome in my book!!

Too many recalls

I'm not sure if my car has had a lot of recalls on it because it was one of the earlier models made with this body style, or if it's because of where it was made. But there have been a lot of issues with it that haven't fallen under a recall with Hyundai that I've had to pay to have fixed out of pocket, that are not normal wear (maintenance) with a car of this age. If my 1999 Nissan Maxima wouldn't have died on me, with 245,000 miles, I would have never bought this vehicle in 2013. But you live and you learn, right?! I'm just hoping that the newer models of Hyundai Sonatas don't have as many issues as my car has had! If I could afford to trade it in, I would today!

Excellent car

I love my car I have had it for 8 years with very little problems. I have sold my brother two of these cars and my father one and a gentleman I worked with and a lady I worked with. I could sell these cars with no problem. I’m thinking about maybe looking into a SUV want something bigger.

a lot of car for the money

All around decent car although some questionable interior quality issues; materials a little cheapish and not as solid as I'd like, but then, you do get a lot of bells and whistles for the price. Never could get the garage remote to work and the automatic dimming rearview mirror doesn't work worth a darn. For a car with 270 HP, great mileage generally getting 32-33 MPG in eco mode. Decent acceleration although noticeable turbo lag. Not a bad looking car. Problem with the turbo first year but under warranty and has been fine since. 5 year warranty was great. Most other problems were nuisance things cars get as they get older--except for the radio; I've never had a radio go out on me before (I think it was the amplifier). Think I've only replaced 1 headlight so far. For the most part it's been pretty reliable after nearly 8 years. Both interior and exterior have held up well even with a little kid occupying the back seat since I've owned it. Good trunk and cabin space. Does OK in the snow.

out beat all the big name brand cars !!!Cadillac, , Mercedes-Benz,BMW Etc!!!!!!

the Hyundai Sonata are one of the best driving car on the market, the handling of it in & out quickly , Just one magnificent car. I love my car !!!!!!!! every where I go people ask me the yr. they are so surprise to here the yr. they thought it was brand new still look new as the day we purchase it !!!

I have had my car since 2013 and it has not given me any major issues. I only have the basic maintance. I have a 2011 Sonata. Only major issue was recall on the motor. Which was taken care of in a timely manner.

My personal vehicle (which I bought at a different dealership in another state) has had multiple recalls and issues. Not happy with that aspect but the Neilsen Hyundai dealership in Michigan City is GREAT!

2011 Hyundai - Disgraceful! A piece of junk.

If I would have known, I would NOT have purchased this vehicle. No faith left in the Hyundai Brand! You need more than a stylish car body to retain customer loyalty. Take responsibility for what you manufacture so unsuspecting customers are not purchasing a shell of a car!

2011 1st model year

The seats are definitely too low in the 2011 Hyundai Sonata. You cannot see over the hood. The road noise is nearly unbearable. I have only kept it due to my low mileage and I do not want a car payment. and I do not want to car payment

I bought this as certified used vehicle in Sept 2013 and it has met all my expectations. Love it! The only issue I have is the numerous recalls. They are dealt with promptly except the current airbag one. I realize there are numerous vehicles with this issue but worry about the safety aspect.

Sonata

Hands down the best vehicle I’ve ever owned and I’ve owned plenty of vehicles. I’m 6”3 and I fit perfectly fine in the vehicle. I have the turbo model and it’s very fast and fun for a turbo charged 4 cylinder and some could say it’s a sleeper.

I bought my Hyundai a year ago - used- and it has required minimum maintenance for about 10,000 miles since. The odometer registers nearly 80,000 miles and, if the car maintains its serviceability and reliability, I expect to have it for many years.
