Love my Sonata

I have a 2011 Sonata Limited 2.0 Turbo. I have lived this car from the first day. It is roomy, has a lot of trunk space, is fun to drive, and the turbocharged motor really performs. The Hyundai warranty is the best in class. I will buy another Sonata next year and give this one to my son.

60000 Miles Strong

I’ve had my car since it’s release date in 2011 and I was initially hesitant to make to jump to hyundai coming from the known reliability of my old Honda Accord. Now I can safely say that after my last 60000 mile service the reliability my 2011 Hyundai Sonata has been just as reliable and fun to drive as I had hoped. It’s got just the right amount of punch when you need it, have never had any major issues mechanics wise and the dealerships I’ve been to always stay on top of any recalls I have to keep my car in tip top shape. I always make sure to stay up on my maintenance and have never experienced any major issues other than the inevitable flat tire every now and then. I love my car and it’s looks and body style have aged well into today’s trends in car design without being boring. I can definitely see driving this car for well over 100000 miles!

Hyundai Sold Me A Lemon

I bought my car new off the showroom floor June 7, 2010 and I have had nothing but issues since. I loved the look of the car, the way she drives and handles the road, I loved the interior and the fact that it came with nav and xm radio...but the issue that I had after that and the problems with this car, were just too much. Honestly, I should've traded the car in after they gave me a new transmission, but I didn't and that is my fault. As much as I love the look of this car, I doubt if I will buy another one. Additionally, I want to give them a one on Build Quality, Performance, and Likelihood of Recommending to others and they will not allow me to remain at 1, so that is why they have a 2.

2011 Hyundai Sonata LTD

There are so many cars from which I can choose but I choose Sonata. It consistently performs well. It is still a great design. The push button feature is so easy. I can fit 5 people with ease. I have very good gas mileage. All in all it is a super car for the money.

Great cars

I own three Sonatas and have been pleased with each one. They offer important safety feathers before any other vehicle brands in that price range, including Altima, Camry, VW, Ford, Chevy, and Chrysler . My Sonatas are comfortable, roomy, dependable, and fuel efficient. They are nice looking vehicles as well.

Hyundai and there Mechanic and they keep a job

I have 3 cars & I don't drive the same one ever day. On my sonata I bought it from the Hyundai dealership in the mall of Georgia. If there were any problems I would drive from Decatur to get it fix. I have never let anyone under my sonata unless I was getting tires. Now I go to the Hyundai dealer in Lithonia (Stone Crest Mall). I've had a recall on the engine and didn't fine out until it stop on me. I had to be towed in to Hyundai in Lithonia. Now here it is almost a year later (and car is paid off), I needed a oil chang and a few days ago i heard a loud pop when I was just about to take off from a light.so 2day b4 I had the oil changed, I had the emissions done (and it passed and driving well). I went to Hyundai in Lithonia ask about the popI heard under the car. I'm sitting almost 2 in a half hours to find out that on the test run the mechanic says the break indicator light came on. Now I've never seen that Indicator light on my car and come out needing a break booter. I drove it in with no breaks lights on and no break problems. Hunter gave me rental. A week later that oil change coast me over $730. We shared the cost of the broken front window that was cracked from when my car was there for the engine recall. so out the door was over $950. When it came too drive the car home all it would do was jerk,so it didn't make it but across the street (the mall) and had to turn around. Now for the 2nd time ever I see this check engine light on. I turned around and took it back to Mr.Hunter and he asked the mechanic that work on my car to check the codes. Now it needed a map quest sensos. Hunter put on no charge. I had to wait about an hour, but Hunter got it done. The mechanics didn't test drive my at all because it took me to get it almost home b4 the jerking stop. But right before I get on 285hwy my tire indicator come on. Now I'm really mad because these are NEW TIERS!!! I just parked the car in my driveway and drove my 2000 Toyata pre runner that's never ever given me one day of probles and it was 3 years old when I got it. My 2011 Sonata was less then a year old when I bought it. So the next day I go and put air in my tire(front passenger side) and it's not holding over night And for the 3rd time I seeing this check engineIndicator. I stop at a auto zone and I now have 3 new codes a P2501-Generator Lap P0420 Catalytic converter and P0711-Transmission Fluid. Now here it is Tuesday and I just picked up my carup last Friday paying over $930. For the only probles I bought it in for was the loud sound witch was a bolt that was fix for no charge, a oil change and filter no charge, and the front window at about $250. Now here I am again Hyundai dealership in Lithonia telling me that theses 3 codes that was not there less then 10 days ago when I did the emissions, nor did I have any break indicator because I bought it in with new tires and new breaks. I now have to pay$1,900.00 for a Catalytic converter, my passenger side door switch is broken another$253.00.... Now that extended warranty didn't cover the 3 codes. When I bought the car from MallofGeorgia that, the owner did a voluntary repossession and only had the car 6mos. But Mr. Hunter at Stone Crest Mall says that the Catalytic converter is not the original parts. So now I'm thinking what happened. No one but Hyundai Dealership mechanic have ever work on my car. My total for a oil change and loud sound cost me over $3,000.00 in 10 days. I will never buy another Hyundai anything again. And I will make sure other 4 in my family don't either. I will go back to my Toyata's. Having to take out a loan on a car I just paid off. I should have known something was wrong because when I was in the waiting room each time I was there, all of us was there for the same problems.muffler, breaks, and Catalytic converter.

Rotten!! It was a lemon!!

The number of recalls and calling corporate and not hearing back.. sent every record of service to corporate and never hearing a thing!! The last I was told I needed a whole new navigation system it would cost a mere $4500!! I can count on one hand the amount of times I used it! It has had some error message on the screen for atleast four years!!0

I Love Hyindai

My Sonata is the 4th Hyundai I have owned. I first bought an Excel in 1988. It had 200,000 miles when I gave it to my daughter. Then I bought an Accent. Gave it to another daughter with 160,000 miles. My Elantra had just under 100,000 miles when I gave it to a friend. My current vehicle is a Sonata and has 73,500 miles on it and runs great.

Good car

The car was mine for eight years and was bought new. Ran well and was worth the investment. Got the stated MPG and had little oroblems. Everyone that rode in it liked it. The styling and design were what initially sold me on this car. It did not disappoint.

Lemon from the beginning

We had to get the engine and transmission both replaced on this vehicle early on. Luckily it was under warranty. I will say Hyundai took care of the engine and transmission since it was under warranty. However, our vehicle has been slowly sounding more like a truck when driven on the highway than a car. We have had it back to the dealership several times, but they cannot find out what is wrong. There are other intermittent issues such as the electronic controls on the steering wheel malfunctioning , which has become a problem and serious concern. I paid a lot of money for the "bumber to bumber" factory extended warranty on this vehicle. It has proven to be a a big waist since the problems I have mentioned have been brought to the attention of the dealership and can not be resolved.

One of the best vehicles ever purchased

I purchased the 2011 Hyundai in the year 2010. Besides having great features and excellent gas mileage, the overall new styling and room made it a perfect match for me and my spouse. With a limited income, I needed a vehicle that was reliable, thrifty and could transport us and luggage in a comfortable manner. Being an retired steelworker, I loved the idea that Hyundai had some factories in the USA. When the time is needed that I would purchase another vehicle, Hyundai would definitely be my first choice

Basic, early model, manual transmission Sonata still running great.

The factory battery lasted me EIGHT years. I taught myself to drive a manual transmission on this car and it's going strong for 9 years now. There have been a few recalls but servicing them has been prompt and none have give me real trouble. Car looks great, drives well. The warranty gives me a lot of confidence in the car and my experience has backed that up so far. I plan to drive this car for the next 5 years, at least. It has everything I need in a car.

I absolutely love this car.

I just bought this car, and I am in love with it. Very spacious and a really big trunk. Also spacious back seats which are a plus for me because I sometimes have older people in my back seat like Grandparents. Very comfortable. The car has a recall for the engine but luckily my engine is good. So if you buy one of this take it in to Hyundai to make sure the engine is good. Other than that car is great!!!

Not what I expected

I am pretty confused about this car. The first month i owned it it was taken out of service for a week to replace the brake line. (Car 2 years old at the time with 18,000 miles) warranty did cover. Multiple recalls over the years on seatbelts, airbag, stop switch, and others. The first year I owned it I kept taking it in for some type of engine issues and they could never find anything. A year and half ago the car had to have the engine replaced (covered under warranty ) and the problem went away. I have had this car In the shop more than any other car I've owned. Very inconvenient. I bought it pre owned so maybe it was "ragged out" for the first 2 years as a lease , not sure. The front end is too low to the ground and got caught on a curb first month I owned it and pulled it loose. The transmission seems to "slip" every once in a while and there is nothing I am aware of that indicates when it will happen. Overall I like the appearance of the car. It is sturdy. Road noise seems loud, however when I used the elantra model as a loaner it was way worse than mine. It has good pick up and can get to a high speed fairly fast especially nice for getting on to highways.

Affordable. Reliable. Comfortable.

I've found the Sonata to be a well performing vehicle, while also being an economical option. The style is on par with it's historically more luxurious competitors. It boasts above average gas mileage and nimble handling. The interior is sharp, but leaves a bit to be desired in the realm of quality. All this and the added benefit of Hyundai's great service centers across the country make the Sonata a great value.

Great Economical and Sharp-Looking Ride

My 2011 Hyundai Sonata is a comfortable and economical vehicle. First sedan I’ve owned in 20 years. Downsized from a mini-SUV and I’ve been pleasantly surprised with both the ride and the comfort. It’s the only vehicle we’ll be taking with us when we move to Costa Rica!!

More than I had expected

When I first bought my Hyundai I was skeptical on how good a”Hyundai” could be. But it turned out to be a good car. My next car will most likely be a Hyundai too but maybe a crossover this time. The newer Sonatas look great but I just want to sit higher.

Nice ride, but...

Late in 2016 "M'Lady Pearl" replaced a beloved and mourned 1994 Mitzu Expo [a small SUV]. I had removed the 2nd seat of the Expo and could fix and haul virtually anything that needed hauling--especially the big, heavy, dirty things that I needed to haul as a Master Gardener. No way can I lift heavy items out of the trunk cavity, but I've installed a protective cover ones uses for transporting dogs, so I can slide bags of soil, yard equipment that will fit, and whatever else when I need to. My choice of buying a "civilized sedan" was a serious error in judgment on my part. Especially when the back window is in desperate need of a windshield wiper. Rear vision is dangerously ghastly in the rain--and even more so in the snow. However, on the positive side, the ride is nice, reasonably quiet, and M'Lady Pearl gets fabulous mileage despite my lead foot. She does have respectable get-up-and-go. I have appreciated being able to carry more than just one passenger now. It's a pretty car and the "Camel Pearl" color doesn't scream for attention when It gets dirty as some of the darker colors do.
