No happy

I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata and won’t get another. As soon as the warranty was out, things started to go wrong, things that I even haven’t told the dealership because it’s out of warranty and I can’t afford additional repairs. I have an electrical dash problem after a recall for an electrical problem, then the motor in my seat quit working & it was not a simple fuse to repair it. I also recently found out that I have a leak from the roof near the sunroof during a recent rain in which I was in the car during the storm & watched it pour in. The Sonata is not a cheap car & I was really looking forward to owning my Sonata but am not happy with my particular car. I will say that my friend has the car one step smaller than mine and has been pleased with hers. Again, this has nothing to do with Joe Holland Hyundai’s service department only with my car

Major issues with the engine

This car has had many recalls and issues throughout the time I’ve had it. I am the 2nd owner and 2 weeks after I got the car I went on a trip and prior to that I got an oil change just in case because I bought it for a 3rd party. On my way back I found that the oil light came on so we pulled over and it was dry. Many times I’ve had to take it in for recalls on things like the seatbelts and brakes. The worst just happened when my engine seized and a day after I got it back from Hyundai the starter locked up as well. It really makes me nervous that there may be many other safety issues with this vehicle.

What's not to like!

Comfortable, easy to drive, economical, and excellent extended warranty service. Winter starting has not been a problem. The engine seems to warm up quickly even at low temperatures. The air conditioning system and heating system are very acceptable

Piece of turd

I have a 2011 Sonata Limited and it has just been recall after recall with this vehicle. I am constantly receiving notifications about recalls on my car, and I always have those sounds that the dealer can't quite replicate and therefore can't help. (I HATE the brakes). The quality of the plastic on the middle console scratches easily, some of the lettering has rubbed off, the steering wheel panels have already been replaced because they flaked, and the brakes always make the worst sound after it's been sitting. (I HATE the brakes). Overall, this car has gotten me around, and it has nice features, but I wish I didn't feel like it was just going to break down on me some day.

Trouble

We have had nothing but trouble with our 2011 Sonata. We had a Santa Fe previously from 2003 and loved it. That is why we bought the Sonata. If you check the service records you will see why we feel that why. We are ready to purchase of lease a new car and we have serious reservations about another Hyundai.

This is the best car I've ever owned! I love that it's a hybrid! I've had many good comments about it from friends. The blue color of my car is easy to spot in the parking lot. Best of all I feel comfortable in it.

Bittersweet

In general I like how the vehicle drives and I like the body style. To be an older vehicle the features are just fine. The downfall is there seems to be a lot of recalls and my vehicle has had an issue that took way too long to figure out. The dealership I took it to in GA couldn’t figure out the issue. The corporate office couldn’t assist me with the issue. My mom actually figured out the problem by several internet searches So I’m torn as to if I’d purchase this same car again.

Best car I’ve ever driven

Sexy good looks, comfortable, economical and dependable! Top notch quality of fit and finish! Would recommend Hyundai to anyone. I’ve driven Cadillacs for years but this car has been terrific. Kudos to all!!?

The Sonata has always been more that we expected.

I bought the Sonata over 8 years ago, with the main feature the 10 year warranty and gas mileage. The car has performed well beyond our expectations with no major mechanical problems. It has plenty of leg and shoulder room in both the front and back seats. We usually far exceed the rated gas mileage on long trips. It's been a great choice for us, so much so that we have purchased a Hyundai Santa Fe to go along with our Sonata. Great buy!

Love this car

I bought my 2011 Hyundai Sonata Turbo new from the dealer. The car now has 114k miles or so, and still going great! I love driving this car (power, comfort, sound system, integrated Bluetooth, etc). Everytime I get in my car and drive, the excitement is still there like day 1 when I bought it! That says a lot. We have always bought Toyota’s (I used to have a Camry), and I felt I took a big risk buying a Hyundai at the time - not anymore! This has been a great and FUN car to drive. It was also a great value for the money, no regrets. Hyundai is great with making the extras affordable for the buyer, not so with Toyota. Start going up a level or two and the cost of a Toyota skyrockets! I hope Hyundai keeps the momentum going with being a step ahead in styling, features and value. The daring style of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata was unseen in the midsize car segment at the time, and Hyundai broke the mold from the flood of ho-hum Camry’s and Accords on the roads. I will consider Hyundai again for my next purchase.

Awesome. I. Love my Sonata. My sonata has over 100 thousand miles. It rides just like the first day that I bought it. This is my second car that I have paid off and received the title.

I love my sonata. This is me 2nd car that I paid off and received the title. I have over 100 thousand miles. It rides like a brand new car. My mom likes to ride in the back seat. My mom is a front seat rider. So, if she rides in the back seat of my car, that says a lot.

Hyundai is now highly regarded in my household above the other makes. And I drive what is concindered a high-end auotmobile.

Of course, every vehicle has its own pluses and minuses. However, Hyundai Sonata has exceeded my households' expectations. Having driven other car brands, the decision to buy Hyundai hasn't been regrettable whatsoever. Hence, planning on getting Hyundai for my two members in my household.

The Hyundai Sonata is a great car; good performance and comfortable to drtive!!

The Sonata looks great inside and out!!! Love the interior colors: black and "caramel" brown. It drives well and is very comfortable - easy to handle on highways which is important for me because I do a lot of highway driving. You can't go wrong with this make and model!!!!!!!!!!!!!t

Hyundai Quality

I am not happy with the all the recalls I have received over the years. Many of these recalls are safety related. Liked the interior roominess. The performance is more than adequate. Liked the interior features such as reclining seats, interior lights, and driver side electric seat.

Excellent Car

I have had my Hyundai Sonata since 2011 and have been extremely pleased with it. My brother had been purchasing Hyundai's for many years and I bought mine based on my test drive and his recommendation. His last vehicle had 200,000 miles on it when he purchased another. I will definitely be back when the time is right. Since I bought my Sonata I have had people stop me and compliment on my car. A stranger asked me what I thought of my car and I told them I loved it! They were considering buying one as well.

I love my sonata

I love my sonata very reliable car and good on gas, really don’t have problems with it other then minor problems like light bulbs i love it and want another one asap i had a starter go out but i had replaced and baby runs like a champ??

Horrible

Will never again go to this particular location. I originally came in for a recalled engine to be replaced and ended up having the car towed back twice. The second first time around I was talked into buying a 135$ battery and was assured that was the issue of the car not starting. Got all the way home and the car would not start again. Just horrible. I could not get anyone to talk to me about what I needed to do only the operator Whitney. I had the car towed back to Hyundai on my own hands and then was contacted the next day saying it was the starter. Which by the way was replaced before the engine went out. Just horrible experience overall. Hyundai contacted my warranty company to see if they can cover the starter but no they wanted it towed back to Midas who originally replaced the starter not even a month ago. Thank s for having me waste 135$ on a new battery that was not needed. I will never come to this location again!!

recalls

I realize that recalls are the way of the car world in the 21st century, but there has been too many on the 2011 Sonata in my opinion. overall it is a decent car for the money. good fuel mileage, comfortable, we have approx.58,000 miles on our Sonata and up until 2 weeks ago when it developed a problem with a switch for the shifter and transmission the only dealer trips were for recalls and regular service. and this problem recently was taken care of by Hyundai's excellent warrantee.

Hyundai sonata junk

Numerous recalls, problems costing thousands..do not buy one! Car is very lightly built w/weak suspension and engine with shavings in it. Poor parts and rude service people. Dealers will not stand by the car, they just want to sell you another one!
