Has earned the title of the "Most Reliable Vehicle" I've ever owned in my 47 years driving and owning cars.
I'm someone who will keep a car for a long time if it performs well, runs efficiently, and is fun to drive. At the same time if I don't like a car, I won't hang onto it for any length of time at all. I have owned this 2011 Sonata since I purchased it new, and I hope to own it for at least another five or six years. First, from a technical standpoint, it is by far the most reliable, breakdown-free auto I've ever owned. Second, it is peppy when I need it to be, and also it gets great gas mileage. Third, It looks great, and has not "aged" at all in the beauty department (it looks like the the newer models that have just been released of the same model, yet it's an 8-year-old model! It still has that brand new engine "pep" when I need it, and it still gets great gas mileage.
There are some things that others might consider negatives, but I don't mind them First, I bought the lowest possible priced car in the model. That means the upholstery is standard, the features are standard, and the plastics inside the car are not of the highest quality. This means that I have had to use upholstery cleaner more often than I have used no other cars, I have had more scratches in the dashboard plastic surfaces than I am used to getting with other vehicles, etc. So Cosmetically, I'd upgrade the interior a bit just for purposes of things looking fresher longer. But other than that, i can think of nothing, literally nothing, about the car that is disappointing or sub-standard. It's a gem of a vehicle, the dealerships I've dealt with are all terrific repair and mechanic shops, and the company's record-keeping, shared with all dealerships wherever you may be with the vehicle, is absolutely top notch and expert. Do not hesitate to put Hyundai Sonata on your list of passenger vehicles to consider when making your next purchase.
