Nice car, but...
I fell in love with a Sonata in 1998, when the US Air Force sent me to Korea. I wanted one ever since. I saw a used one in 2014 ( 2012 Sonata Hybrid), and bought it.
I am pleased with the fit and finish, the comfort levels, the creature comforts built in, the ride, and the looks.
Unfortunately, the engine/battery system disappoints. At best, I get about 35 MPG on the highways, driving at speed limit. That is only slightly better than I got from my 2000 BMW 528i (I routinely got 33 MPG on my long trips), and the engine power, responsiveness, driveability, comfort, features, sound system, etc. were order of magnitude better. I expected all the latter from a car that cost tens of thousands more, so no surprise there. What I didn't expect was a hybrid car, with so modest "pep", to get so modest an improvement in miles per gallon. Something wasn't done right with the design or engineering with this vehicle.
