Excellent vehicle for the Price.
After extensive research and test-drives, the 2012 Hyundai Sonata came out on top. I purchased the ES model with the $750 option package that added a power driver seat, alloy wheels, auto-dim lights, and a few interior upgrades. While it may be a four-cylinder, it accelerates without hesitation or excess noise. Once at 65-75 it cruises smoothly and quietly. I think it handles very well, the seats are very comfortable, both front and back, and I have had a rear passenger that is 6'4", with a front passenger that is 6' with no knee touching seat problem. The trunk is HUGE...take a look and you will be amazed. A compliment I hear frequently is the dash and control setup. It looks sleek and is ergonomically friendly. I researched and drove several cars, trying to learn something from each salesmen I spoke with. I searched exhaustively for a new vehicle. I test drove the Altimas (4-cylinder and 6-cylinder), the Maxima, Ford Fusions (4-cylinder and 6-cylinder), the Toyota Camry, the Honda Accord & the CRV, and was not overly impressed with any of them for their style and value. It has only has a 4-cylinder engine, but you would never know it and never guess it. The car has amazing pick-up, ridiculously better than the 6-cylinder Altima and Fusion that I test drove. It has no hesitation when you step on the gas and switches gears smoothly (unlike the Fusion which threw me back in my seat while accelerating), for a very pleasant driving experience. The cars turn radius is impressive - it turns on a dime. The ride is extremely quiet, minimal highway noise and a very, very, very nice ride, similar to that of a Lexus or Mercedes and Bluelink (like On-Star). It has all the bells and whistles of a luxury car. Plus it gets awesome gas mileage because it's only a 4-cylinder engine. No other car company can beat the car styling, performance, and warranty for the value!!
