Solid, Reliable, Noisy
This was my 4th Sonata that I purchased. I have always been happy with my Sonata's and I have enjoyed them. This 2016 was my least favorite. There are 2 reasons. The first is my fault, I shouldn't have listened to my salesman in purchasing the one on the lot, as it had everything I wanted except the built in navigation. This one instead had Apple Car Play. I should have ordered one with the built in navigation. Hyundai's navigation system is amazing and definitely worth the extra price. Steer clear of Apple Car Play. The second reason is not my fault. I am not sure what they have done differently over the years (the Sonata before this was a 2015, and I had a 2011 and 2013 before that, all purchased new) however this car had terrible wind noise. It was so terrible that when driving over 30MPH you couldn't really hear the person you were speaking with on the Bluetooth, nor could they hear you, even after adjusting the volumes for both mic and speaker. The second is driving down the highway it is impossible to hold a conversation with your passengers, and forget about the phone. You would hear the trucks as you passed, as if you had a window down, all of the time (and no, my windows weren't even cracked, they were completely up). I purchased the vehicle and the next day went back to work, I was in a traveling position, had forgotten something in my previous car, and called my salesman. He was so flabbergasted by the road noise, that he said bring it back in when I come back to town. I did, they didn't find anything wrong with it, and we even took another car off the lot and test drove it out and on the interstate, and it was just as bad. I am so sad about this, as my previous ones were very quiet, with my 2015 being the quietest, but this 2016 was terrible.
