SUV with real capability
I like my trail rated Grand Cherokee diesel because it is a real back woods car, not a soccer mom suv. We have taken it on unpaved roads and on a few primitive roads and felt confident that the vehicle was up to the task and more. The Cherokee has done a fair amount of deep snow work successfully and it is an excellent tow vehicle with over 7000 pounds of tow capacity. Mine is an Overland model so it does not lack for creature comforts. Early in its life the torque converter clutch was replaced on warranty. I have had minor work done on the transfer case (wouldn't shift into low range); one or two glow plugs have been replaced; and the air conditioner condenser was replaced. Overall fuel economy is 20 mpg.
