So Far, So Good!
I have only had my 2016 Mazda for about 9 months (16K miles), but it has proven itself to be the car that I was looking for. I had a smaller CSUV (2009 Pontiac Vibe--which is a Toyota Matrix in Pontiac window dressing), and as a sales representative and a 100,000 miles on the Vibe, I felt it was time to get a new vehicle. My goal was to find a vehicle which offered: 1) at least close in MPG's (I was getting about 30 MPG average per tankful--this represented my "highway-tilted" Combined MPG), 2) AWD--without significant sacrifice to this MPG noted in 1) above, 3) higher ground clearance, 4) more interior storage space, and as if I didn't have unrealistic expectations already, 5) better acceleration to help me me out of certain traffic situations, and better performance on hills and grades. A lot to ask, yet I have to say, short of perhaps being 1 MPG shy of my gas-saving goal, all other objectives have been met. The space increase is significant, as is the acceleration, where 0-60 in the Vibe was in the low 9 secs and now I am in the mid-upper 7 secs. Handling is great (the Vibe was pretty good too, but also is a lower vehicle, so reasonable to expect that). All in all, I am quite happy with my CX 5 selection!
