Go somewhere else for service
Dropped my car off October 2nd, Wednesday 8 AM because I was flying out for work and wouldn’t be back until Friday afternoon which gave the service department plenty of time to work on my car. When I dropped it off with my boyfriend (who was a mechanic for Honda for 18 years), I told Rolando that the car is hesitating when it goes from reverse to drive, let him know that the GPS only works 20% of the time and that I wanted an oil change. No call from Rolando Wednesday or Thursday and Friday morning I emailed him (as he said that was the preferred method of communication)…No response. I get home Friday afternoon and call. Left messages for Rolando and his supervisor, no response. Saturday called, no response. Left messages for the supervisor, no response. I get to the dealership at 4PM on Saturday afternoon, get in front of the supervisor (last name is Medina) who says I got your messages from yesterday and today but I’ve been too busy to respond. Mind you there was no one in service at that time and the bay doors were closed. I tell him I want my car. He comes back and says that the 2021 Hyundai Kona has a known issue of a fuse and alternator issue but that my battery test failed so that needs to be replaced first. I was about to say we’ll replace the battery but I realize that the known alternator issue may be killing my battery. Regardless, they didn’t call me, they didn’t even try to work on the stalling issue, they didn’t change my oil nor did Rolando, who was conveniently on vacation write up the GPS issue. They had my car 4 full days! I do not recommend this service department. I have bought 3 Hyundai cars and I plan to buy more in the future but I will not take them here for service and neither should you!

Irish Honey Badger - 0 - ZERO Rating ~ Charles Corcoran sold me a used car he claimed was new. It was a DEMO with higher mileage than he claimed on paper. The reason for my reexamination is to warn any customers to be advised of this dealership and sales person. I urge all to follow up with other sales merchant's.

Great Place to have my 2020 Santa Fe maintained.
I've been going to Courtesy Hyundai on Hillsborough Ave. since 2007. I am now on my second Hyundai Santa Fe and both were taken care of there. I am very well taken care of by my service advisor Ben Rivera who checks me in and keeps me in the loop throughout the Maintenace process. Ben Rivera also gave me great advice when it was time to trade in my Old Santa Fe and I am very happy with my 2020 Santa Fe. Ben Rivera has been a great service advisor and answers all my questions to my satisfaction. Thank You Ben!!

Horrible
This place is a rip off. I bought a car in Feb 2022 and the car had 14599 miles. I took it back today for an oil change and guess what 2 tires were dry rotted. I have only put 1500 miles on the car they sold a car with bad tires. Stay away from this company.

Recall Issue
My 2018 Genesis has 45k miles and it developed an oil leak going to the turbo. It turns out that there was a recall for this exact issue (recall # 19-01-028HG). I take my car to Courtesy Hyundai and they proceed to tell me that there is NO recall on my car, despite what my “lyin-eyes” are telling me when I look up the recall on the federal registry. Now over the 2.5 weeks that they have had my car, the service advisors have told me that the repair for my car is a substantial job, approximately 10 hours. Which then begs the question, how did the same service dept do the same job for the same recall, 3 years prior, all while I waited on an oil change that had me sitting there for 3 hours. Mind you, this was on Saturday, December 21st 2019, the Saturday before Christmas, when the service center was packed because its one of the busiest driving days of the year.

The short answer is that they didn’t. They lied. They signed off on the recall without changing a part so that they could get paid more by Genesis. That’s why my car was NOT showing an open recall, because they claimed to do the recall, but never did.

Now lets play devil’s advocate and lets say they did do a 10-hour job, during a 3hour oil change, on the Saturday before Christmas. That means that 2 things would be true. They are lying about it being a 10 hour job to bilk people out of their money. AND…their maintenance is such garbage that the recall they “fixed” 3 years prior, failed within 18,000 miles.

Courtesy Hyundai took 7 days to review my claim (another 10 days to fix it), did NOT provide a loaner vehicle (part of my service agreement/concierge service) and have said that because of their “good nature” they are going to cover the repair. I am appalled that they believe that it is good business to fake a recall, lie about it, not be accountable for their mistake and then try to claim that they are being generous for covering up their deceit.

In all, it took from Oct 11th – Oct 28th (17days) to repair something that Courtesy, according to them, fixed within 3 hours, during an oil change, while I waited, on Dec 21st 2019.

I have filed a complaint with the State Attorney, BBB & Genesis of America.
