Terrible service department
Terrible experience. Do not ever take your car to this service department.
Brought my Hyundai Santa Fe in on September 8th, 2023. The motor was bad and needed to be replaced. Fortunately it was under warranty, so my wife and I decided to leave it at Greenway Hyundai. We are from Anniston. Alabama and we would have preferred to bring it back to our Hyundai dealer in our hometown. In hindsight, I wish we would have done just that.
This service department is absolutely the worst. To begin with, they had my car for three months! 1/4 of a year!
They told us it would take 6-8 weeks at the beginning. Since we were down to just one vehicle between us, I had no other choice but to buy a used car so my wife would have a vehicle to drive. It’s a good thing I did. They ended up having my car for twelve weeks!
They initially told my wife the motor was under warranty and that we would only need to pay for a new timing belt which would be around $300. We were fine with that. However, after 12 weeks of waiting, they called and said we would owe $600 for new belts. We assumed that the new belts would have been a new art of a new motor. After discussing this with the manager, Noah, he reduced the cost back to $395.
I discussed this with Noah on Thursday and told him I would be up Saturday to pick it up. I then asked, “So, are you sure it is ready to go?” I don’t want to drive all the way to muscle shoals and it not be ready.” He assured me it had been test driven and would be ready.
Upon arriving on a rainy Saturday morning, I went inside and paid. Another young man (Ashton) gave me my key fob and we proceeded to leave. Upon finding my car in the parking lot, it was apparent something was wrong. The key didn’t work. I went back inside thinking he gave me the wrong key fob. Ashton took the key fob and went outside to try his luck. It was at this point he informs me the battery must be dead in the key fob and he would be right back. He returned in a few minutes and said he replaced the battery and (with tax) it would be right at $10….
I replied, “You have got be kidding me!” “I need to talk to your manager.”
He went inside to retrieve the manger but returned momentarily to say the manage was busy but they would just replace the key fob battery for free. So, I took it and went back to the car. But, despite having a new battery in the key fob, the car still wouldn’t open.
The real reason? The car battery was dead.
Finally the manager, Noah, came out and said they would have to replace the battery. I then asked Noah (who I talked to on Thursday) how was the battery dead when it was test driven on Thursday? He replied, “Sometimes a battery can die if it sits for a while.”

I thought to myself: “yes. A battery that has sat in an untested car for 90 days may just do that.”

Noah and Ashton proceeded to change the car battery. I’m pretty sure they knew I was not happy because no mention was made of the cost. So, I stood in the rain and watched them replace the battery. Once they finished, I did thank them for putting in a new battery and my wife and I left.
As soon as we began to drive away I noticed the check engine light was on. I prayed nothing was wrong and that they just didn’t reset the button.
As soon as I got the car back home to Anniston, I took it to my Hyundai service department and asked them to please inspect everything as I was really skeptical about the quality of work that greenway had done. Superior Hyundai of Anniston found that the service light was still on because greenway had failed to reconnect the oxygen sensor.
There was also a factory recall that greenway could have taken care of, but they didn’t. So Anniston took care of that.
All I can say is how disappointed I am with greenway. Very frustrating experience with a service crew that is either incompetent or apathetic. Apathy would infer that they are jerks. But they weren’t really unfriendly. So, I will have to say they must just be incompetent then. Whoever owns this dealership, should be embarrassed.

These guys are a joke
DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP SHIP. I bought a 2023 from them almost a month ago told them I didn't want to extended warranty and still got stuck with it in the sale now I want to cancel it and they tell me it can't be canceled low and be told I work for dealer ship and know the only reason they do t want to cancel it is they don't want to pay a charge back needless to say they will talk and lie and not give all information to you about the warranty and if you get it they will try to stick you with it BAD BUSSINESS

Avoid this. To much going on and no one to talk with about it
Got a new Sonata. Told them I didn't want extra warranties or another things with the car. They snuck the contract on me by hurrying up and when I'm done I have 899 dollars added to the car plus a treatment to the inside and outside of the car that cost 1,689 dollars. I have tried to contact them with no reply except an e-mail to contact them over the matter 3 times and4 times e-mail. Got the car home, and It's got a non factory tint on it. Nitrogen aired tires. Noticed the tires were low with warning light at 24 psi in front driver side and the rest at 29 psi. So there goes the Nitrogen. I feel this car has been sold and brought back. It had around 49 miles on it when I bought it. If you are reading this, you do need to contact me about this matter. I suggest you to read your contracts with this Dealer. The car is fine, but the way it was sold is really left to be desired. Also look at the invoice. It said sale for it and after all was said it was still at normal price. I feel you need to write me a check for this on what i never asked for and send it to me as soon as possible. MSRP
was $31,135 and its sale price was $28,942. When they added all they snuck in, the total was $34,373. Added to this was Nitrogen tires aired $395, Four for One $$899, Lifetime Window Tint $449, Premium Luxcare $1,495 with a grand total to the car $34,373. This is not the way to do a customer. Stay away from this place.

Liars
Bought a used 2019 Santa Fe in September 2021, paper work said new tires, new wipers and seat protectant by dealer. When I went there for 2nd service the service manager came up and said he recommended new tires on back. Tread depth was 7-7-5-4. When I ask sales person about the tires was told they only put tires on front. I spoke with a manager he said this tire was only 8-9 when new. Manufacture states new tires has a tread depth of 11, so the tires wore 4/32 in 10,000 miles. Beware buying a used car here

Lady at front desk was rude and hateful
I scheduled service Appt for Recall . I was told someone would take me to work at 8:00 am. I arrived at 7:50 am. Lady at front desk told me no one there would have told me that and I must have called Honda by mistake!! She argued with me about how mistaken I was to think they would shuttle me to work. I had not called Honda by mistake, I know what I was told when I made Appt. and I was in the Hyundai system for that AM. She argued with me and was hateful and awful. When I told her I would have to reschedule because I had to work, Josh offered to take me to work ( 10 minute drive) She made other remarks but this space is not large enough to say all that happened. Josh was awesome. She was horrible!!

Turned out well
My first visit was fine, until my check engine light came back on. Because I could not bring it to them, they picked my car up from Florence. They offered me a loaner vehicle until mine was ready, but I declined. They kept my car for several weeks, making sure they checked everything out and found and repaired the problem. They dropped my car off to me at no cost. I was very impressed with their willingness to go the extra mile.

People Friendly Service!
At the Greenway of the shoals, The ease of getting my car checked in to the hospitality of the people at the service desk to the cashier where I paid was a plus. Even had to stop in and see the saleswoman that sold me the car. The experience has been great from the start of my purchase!
