flat tire/oil change
I had been satisfied with the regular oil changes the past two years, but last month I requested to have a slow leaking flat fixed during the oil change service. I was told that it was not repairable because the leak was on the side wall of the tire. I was quickly offered advice to purchase two tires cause buying just one is not recommended, so I was quoted the price for two. The following week I went to Craig Tires in Belen and asked to have a flat fixed. It was repairable. The leak was on the center of the tread of the tire. I have proof that the tire was not taken off to check for a leak at the Hyundai center.

Service department is a joke
Story of our car held hostage for MORE THAN TWO WEEKS without a shred of communication from the hyundai service department.
We took the car in for a recall on August 8th, a Thursday.
The same evening we receive a call in which they explain that there is a damage to the manifold, that they have to order the part and that it will take a couple of more days.
We called on Monday 12th August to get updates, we were told that the car will be ready on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Wednesday evening we call again, but receive no answer.
On Thursday we receive a message saying that the part will arrive the next day and that the machine will be ready on Friday (August 16).
We receive no communication of any kind for three days, the following Monday (August 19th) we call again and are told that the car will be ready the following day.
On Tuesday we receive a message saying that the piece has not yet arrived but that it will be ready by Wednesday evening.
On Wednesday Aug 21, around 3pm, we text them to have a confirmation. The answer is “we emergency ordered it yesterday hoping it would show up today. Unfortunately it did not show up. My department told me it will come in tomorrow by 4pm. Which means it will be done by Friday”.
This is a never ending nightmare, stay away from this place.

Wipers come on by themselves
I bought a 2018 Hyundai ELANTRA brand new from Southwest hyundai. Over the past two years or so I’ve taken this car to both Hyundai dealers and they can’t figure out why the wipers are coming on by themselves. I’ve taken this car to them 18 times already And they still can’t figure out the problem. Cory Reese and Connie at Southwest hyundai are terrible. Their customer service is terrible. Poor communication skills are horrible. They treat their customers like shit. I had an appointment. What’s the sense of making an appointment when they don’t even look at your car the same day they had my car there for two days and never even looked at it. I finally went and picked it up because I was left without a vehicle. Connie promised me a loaner vehicle and when I got there to drop my car off, she tells me they quit giving out loaners. Poor communication shame on you Connie. Corey Reeves is another one. He promised to take care of this vehicle for me. Never even looked at it. Shame on you Cory. Terrible terrible service.

Very poor customer service, lack of communication
I ordered a Tucson Hyundai hybrid in January 2023. Was told it would be delivered on March 6th, I texted salesman and he texted it would be in March 8th, I asked him to keep us posted. He didn't. I texted salesman again because I never heard from him on the 8th. He then said he would check on the 10th. I never heard from him so I called and spoke to an assistant manager in sales (female) and she was of no help. My husband took over communication and he spoke to salesman on March 11th who said the vehicle would be in on Monday March 13th. March 13th came and went without salesman calling my husband back, so my husband called him and was told that salesmans' (manager) told him the car would be in on March 14th. Today is March 14th, still no car, still no communication from salesman, so I called the main number and I asked for my deposit to be reimbursed due to the frustration and poor service. I was told that if the car was not in by March 15th at 5 pm that is when my money would be reimbursed. I am taking my business else where and will share my experience to whoever will listen to me.

Lemon
Never again! Bought a lemon which was a 2015 Hyundai sonata hybrid from Southwest Hyundai. This was my son's fist at car I helped him finance so he had a vehicle to get to work and school.Serviced it there without issue until the hybrid battery started to go out. We scheduled multiple service appointments and towed it to them twice due to hybrid battery warnings that shut the car down. Alarms went off and was not drivable. Each time we were told everything was fine and took it home to begin the process all over again, each time getting worse and worse until they could no longer "reset it". So if you are first owner you have lifetime warranty of the hybrid battery, but second owner they will cover the battery to 100,000 miles. Unfortunately when the car became 100% inoperable the car was around 110,000 miles. But the problem is the hybrid battery starting going out way before it hit 100,000 miles. The sad part is that I was unable to get a competent service person at southwest Hyundai to advocate for us for a replacement of the hybrid battery even with documentation of several service encounters with them. Needless to say the car is inoperable and my son found himself upside down on a loan. Please do your research and think twice before purchasing and servicing a car from with Southwest Hyundai. We have since had to purchase another vehicle and did so with CarMax who have provided amazing customer service from purchasing the vehicle to servicing the vehicle. I am committed to buying future quality used cars with Carmax!

Poor service
I visited this dealership for my first service on my new Hyundai which I purchased in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I was 4th in line for my 8AM service.
The service rep told the 3 people in front of me NOT what he could do to help them but what he could NOT do to help them.
So I knew what might be coming when I reached his desk. He told me that they could not service my brand new Hyundai. (despite the fact that when I called to schedule my service I fully explained that this car was purchased in Mexico and I provided my VIN number to them). So much for Hyundai's World wide service guarantee. While there might be some explanation for my situation, (even though I live 1/2 the year here in Albuquerque), there certainly was not for the 3 customers in front
of me. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.

Scheduled Service appointment - NOT
I schedule a service appointment for routine oil change. I show up 5 minutes before my scheduled service and check in, 2 hours later my scheduled service had not been started. No updates or rationale as why the service wasn't started or completed as scheduled. I took my Santa Fe and left....I'm done with Larry H. Miller Hyundai and their service department. you have lost any and all future service from potential vehicle purchase to vehicle servicing.

this wasn't the first issue with the service department, but it'll definitely be the last.

Service department lack of assistance
A failed sealed unit part has failed on my Santa Fe Sport and Larry H. Miller's service department has offered no help or consideration in solving my problem. The part was faulty when manufactured, so it should be covered. I have offered to pay the labor charges to replace the part, if Hyundai will cover the cost of the part. Neither the dealer nor Hyundai's national customer service supervisors are interested in making this right.

Dishonest, unprofessional
I am extremely disappointed by the lack of transparency and professionalism from my recent visit. The service department was unreliable and dishonest. I would not recommend taking your car here for service or repairs ever.
My car’s ignition cylinder was broke due to theft attempt. I was told the cylinder was in stock, so I asked for an estimate for it to be replaced. The service manager took 2 days to give me a simple estimate (when I called a local locksmith, a clear precise service price was stated right away)
So not only are they disrespectful of their customer’s time, they SURPRISED me with a “diagnostic fee” of $150 and he was rude about it as well.

There was nothing to diagnose- I wouldn’t have agreed to it had I known. It was very clear that nothing was damaged except for the ignition cylinder- the local locksmith fixed this simple problem in less than hour.
They quoted me over $600 where a local locksmith did it for $125. I understand labour at the dealership is higher, but this was a straight up scam.
If you are looking for efficient, professional service with full transparency- you will not receive it at Southwest Hyundai.

My car was squeaking horribly and Shawn Osborn told me it needed upper control arms. Tech Charles Neiderman performed the work and now my car runs like new! I always appreciate the professional, dependable, honest service at SW Hyundai!
