FISHERMAN DAVE
(The WOLRST) I would question if any of these reviews are legit, or are they paying for advertisement to avoid claimed trolls. I have an 2012 3.6R Outback taken to Raul and David with axle issues and starter wining noise issues. They had the car for four days and fixed the knocking issue in the right axle and claimed they fixed the noise in the starter. The day we picked it up; the nose in the starter was still there. Dave told us that this is common in the particular model but, Raul suggested a re-built starter. We drove off and came back after a weekend to leave the car for another day to have it installed as, they would claim this would fix the problem. We went to start it and again with the noise. Same claim from David about the model and now Raul was claiming it needed to be a new starter...did i mention that through this whole ordeal - we told Dave about the problems above and he tried to lay it on us that we didn't inform him properly; also all his forgetfulness to call us back every other day to get a status on parts. Finally even after all that Raul was sensible to not charge the labor and we still have mild knocking in the axle of repair. I tried to give it another shot with my 2000 Honda Accord LX. I had a code that came up as a cylinder 1 misfire. I went straight to Rally and left the Car with Raul on a Thursday Morning. Raul stated " I am going to go down the street with it right now and get the codes that come up and feel what its doing". I stated to him no rush on repair as I can leave it for the week. I called back the following Wednesday to get status to authorize work and Dave stated Raul was unavailable and there were no notes on the car to inform me of anything at the time. I asked to have Raul call me back. Dave stated that Raul would call me back. The next day i waited until 1430 hours and called Dave again; he told me that Raul wasn't around and out of town. I asked Dave why didn't he just call me back then and when Raul left. Dave stated that Raul left in the beginning of the week and would be back the coming Monday (06/13/22). I waited until 1130 hours and called and finally got an unknown Mechanic on the phone who told me they hadn't done anything with my car but, they should have an answer by the end of the week. I stopped and stated that if they didn't call me back by end of day with an answer or option; then i wanted the vehicle back to take it to another mechanic. They called my wife's phone two hours later, instead of my phone and told her that it wasn't serious; just needed new spark plugs, rotors, and caps. I call them back and give an unknown mechanic the "go" to repair; he states that a slight bit of oil is leaking into the spark plug hub and the car will need to have the same thing done in 20k miles. NOT EVEN AN HOUR later they call my wife again (my number is on file) and they tell her they have tried to reach me five times (I don't think so fisherman Dave). I call Dave and he tells me that now its a catalyc Converter replacement at 1600.00 DOLLARS! So wait...1. You had my car now two days shy of two weeks? 2. You never called me; i had to keep calling Dave for status, with no return calls? 3. You tell me Raul will call me back; after you already knew he was gone out of town? You claim my car is a simple fix for the spark plugs - rotors - caps and could be fixed right up today (1 day)? 4. You then call me back to tell me about the oil in the spark plug housing and suggest more to be done? 5. You then double down and LIE to my wife stating you called me 5 TIMES? 6. You tell me that its 1600.00 to repair -
I don't know but its 1510 hours and waiting STILL for Raul's call as claimed from Fisherman Dave. Why wouldn't they just communicate from the start! They don't have the time to take the car on. They are running thin on mechanic's. Dave claimed one mechanic went to Mexico without notice. Why not take all the diagnostic information and address it in one call for the 1600.00 or more. They cost me time, a rental car fee for unexpected planning past a week. They falsified claims to my spouse because; Fisherman Dave was afraid to call me directly. With all this - Dave snapped at me with an attitude while bringing this to his attention after the initial 2k - I already spent there! Not a whole lot but, they could've had me as a long time customer but instead Fisherman Dave chose the path to tell a whale of a story to me and not effectively show any customer service or communicate effectively in the end! They call themselves Engineers....Raul is the only Engineer and the few mechanics they do have apparently can't effectively communicate with Fisherman Dave - according to him. Take your car to a specialist that offers warranty and effectively communicates with you with care and understanding and if they ever tell you to give them a break - break the customer relationship! I will be adding this story to Marine Times and also Google Reviews - DONT GIVE THEM YOUR HARD EARNED $$$$$
I highly recommend RallySport. Easily scheduled my appointment, Paul called with recommendations, I approved his recommendations and the car was finished on schedule.
