Completely Unacceptable Experience
With 1700 miles on my 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV the air conditioning compressor went bad causing a fault. I ended up having to go to the dealer three times (driving about 120 miles in total) to have it diagnosed and repaired. The third trip was required because despite having the car all day and saying things were fine, it turns out they did not have the proper machine to recharge the air conditioner - but neglected to say anything about this throughout the entire day and even when I came to pick it up. When I came back the next day I asked if I could use an empty office for a couple of conference calls (I actually have a real job!). I was given permission by the Service desk manager to use an open office. While on a call, one of the employees ordered me out of the office. I said I was told I could be there. Then he actually went and got the owner to kick me out despite telling them I was on an active call and was just sitting on the visitor side of the desk. I was furious.

When I told the service desk manager what happened he told the owner the situation. But despite this I did not get an apology from either the employee who kicked me out or the owner. Totally unacceptable experience.

This is the worst I have ever been treated for a problem that was not my making.

Poor Service
Dropped a brand new vehicle off for warranty work 2 months+ ago, and have experienced very poor urgency or any sense of urgency from the service dept. Cannot get calls back, everyone either on vacation or not around in the service dept. Constant blaming of GM and pointing fingers. Given dates for when parts would be in only to fail to fulfill and have little explanation. Given a small passenger car as a rental after 6 weeks of complaining as a “replacement” for the work truck we dropped off that our company is making payments on but cannot use. Cannot get the assistant service manager to return calls after repeated attempts for contact. It’s rather frustrating that in order to comply with a warranty and future warranty coverage the service techs/parts dept. cannot locate a part that the local NAPA has in stock….but it doesn’t say GM sooooo……

Recommend another GM dealer such as CARR, Suburban auto group, etc.

My friend recommended Tonkin Subaru service and I was very satisfied with the service! The service manager and staff are thorough, prompt, diligent, and courteous. I was hesitant about getting service at a dealership, but not anymore, thank you Tonkin Subaru!

My service technician got my car finished in a timely fashion and explained what the service entailed. All paperwork was accurate and the service manager was courteous and respectful Nice job!

New battery
Headed to salt lake city from Cannon Beach. Battery died the evening before. Stopped and had a new one out in 45 minutes and we were on the road. Great service and very nice people.

I was told my Subaru had leaking head gaskets
I had a very poor experience at Tonkin Subaru. A entry level technician told Jennifer I had a leaking head gasket. I contacted my original dealership Montrose Flower Subaru to see if they could warrantee the engine as they had replaced the engine block 35K miles before and it should not have “leaking head gaskets”. The supervisor at Montrose Subaru requested photos of the leaking head gasket and an hour later Jennifer the technician said there was no longer leaking head gaskets! I was not impressed with Tonkin Subaru and they should have all their younger techs work alongside more experienced techs! This was unneeded stress and the team quoted me almost $4K in repairs!
