2007 BMW X3 Review

We have owned BMWs since 1985 so it was an easy decision to buy the “used” 2007 X3 with 56K miles to haul our German Shepherd dogs around. After 12 years and 138K miles, it keeps on going strong. We also bought a 2019 BMW X3 M40i which the dogs don’t get to ride in. They are afraid of the acceleration!!!

Love my BMW

I brought my 2007 BMW X3 used in 2010. I haven't experienced any major problems. With the exception of having to replace a few hoses and a couple of sensors, the only maintenance has been oil changes, new tires and brakes pad all of which is normal wear and tear. Not bad for a 15 year vehicle!

Beautiful to look at, not too beautiful to keep up

These things are not only fragile but also extremely expensive and the parts are delicate also. They ride hard, like riding a semi down the road. A person who is 6 feet tall won't fit comfortably in the back seats. Not worth keeping.

Love this baby

Great car. Needs a lot of attention, but if you have an honest mechanic you are good to go. Supreme gas, expensive parts, dealers rip you off with double price and panic for you need replace something. Find a family owned small shop where they work on BMWs and all about repairing not replacing.

New BMW X3 owner

I have only owned my BMW X3 for a short while. What attracted me to it was its size, styling, past BMW ownership and safety. I have, however, not been impressed with its drive quality. I currently own one other BMW and LOVE how it drives. I have owned 5 others and felt the same way, this one however, leaves me a little cold.

Not the greatest

Our BMW is an ok car prone to a lot of problem and extremely hard to operate, fix and keep running. Sorry but we expected more from BMW a company we respect and know well. Apparently each car needs a 15 year complete warranty

2007 BMW X3

I purchased my X3 in October 2017. I drive some days over 100 miles one way to work. I don't know weather conditions all the time and I have to get to my job. The car had low mileage and the cold weather package. I never thought I would be utilizing it so much as I am now. The car didn't have a backup camera and navigation, so I went to my local audio shop and they installed it custom. I now have an awesome older model BMW with great technology. Recently, we had a blizzard and the car handled like a beast. All I had to do was press the DTC button and the car had more grip and got me to where I needed to be. Look for an older model with low mileage, get better audio and navy and you can't go wrong. You will enjoy extended rides and feel safe in a wonderful car. Todd K

Drive train issues

I'm not the only one that has this issue but ask around and you'll find out that most people within X.3 will spend upwards of $3000 getting the transfer case fixed within the first few years. Typically it's right after the warranty expires. There are a lot of little quirks that happen with this car that I've never experienced with other cars. All are very costly to fix. No more X3 in my future.
