Love it

I bought this truck new in 2006. I now have 175k miles on it and it's still going strong. I did have to have the transmission done earlier this year but a couple thousand dollars for a new transmission is way cheaper than a new truck.

LTZ

The trick to keeping a GM product is trying to keep the salt driven miles off it. That said I have 108000 miles on it and the salt is finally getting to it. The salt has ruined the aluminum rims a long time ago. How can Honda produce aluminum rims that don’t corrode? The phone that is supposed to be hands free can not recognize my voice and then they steal my minutes. I’m out. The XM radio is nice but for the few miles that I drive it I can not justify the expense especially when they cut out the option to listen to it on my account on my computer. Now I’m in the market for a new truck and GM no longer makes a full size truck regular cab short box truck. What!!? All the odd ball vehicles that GM has brought to the market over the years and they discontinued the regular cab full size truck! Who’s brilliant idea was this? Full size trucks is what kept GM alive and they cut this configuration? Why?? They think they filled the slot with that Colorado excuse for a truck. I don’t want to sound like a hater but really that poor thing GM should hang there heads in shame. They had one on display at Costco and the back door hand fell off. Maybe I have to much history with GM I had a 99 full size truck and the front breaks failed and they would not stand behind the default...lucky I was not killed

Big Rig

The vehicle is durable and long lasting. It has kept up to its estimated gas mileage as well. The trailer package that came with the purchase has proven to be very supportive to the use with the Silverado.

13 Years & Going Strong!

I bought my 2007 Silverado 1500 in October of 2006. Opted for all the bells and whistles, and to this day, I have never regretted this purchase one bit. She, the Silverado, has served me well in business, hauling tons of magazines and newspapers from NorCal to SoCal monthly for a dozen years. Now that I'm retired, she is also retired. Other than new tires, and predicable wear 'n tear, I can rely on her for another 50K to 100K miles with no major operations in sight. She might well make it to 100 years old. Car-age, of course.

Good Truck, Good Friend,

First of all its's a Chevy truck, not always the fanciest or most stylish, but they start, run and do their job every day. I have had a few issues with it, driveline clunking due to excessive clearance between the yoke splines and transmission output shaft, it uses more oil than it should, I blame the AFM fuel management system that has had it's issues. I have replaced the valve cover gaskets and oil pan gasket x 2 times. It certainly doesn't like Mobil One oil, goes through it like water, but I have found other synthetic brands that do better at the same viscosity rating required. Of course there is the vinyl side strips that turn an ugly brown after a couple years in the California sun. All in all, I would buy it again. It's got 120K miles on it know and I am pretty sure it will make 200K

Chevy

300,000 and still going. I was looking for a vehicle for my grandson to get to work and school and I ran across this truck with all these miles. I took it for a test drive and it seemed solid. Bought it and has been a good truck!!!

Good truck

Dependable, solid, good looking truck. Exterior finish has held up well. Interior has surpassed expectations. Performance has been great and it has towed my trailers with ease. Knock on wood, I've had no mechanical problems, but do try to keep it serviced and maintained regularly.

2007 Chevrolet Silverado classic

I have always had a truck. This truck was bought strictly for transportation to work. Satisfied with it other than the mileage (296,000 miles). Runs and drives better than what it was bought for.

Love the Silverado but has a small issue

The 2007 Silverado had a oil consumption issue in the very beginning. I had to jump through hoops to get it addressed, I am still using about 2 quarts between oil changes. The vehicle is a great ride, operates well, and I will consider another one; however, Chevy dealers did not do much to help me with my current issue.

My 2007 Black Silverado 1500

Purchased on August 4, 2007, my Silverado was not a wanted purchase... At the time I owned a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited that was customized with an array of accessories that made it 'one of a kind'. I needed to replace the transmission in the Jeep and I was looking to trade out of it...The new Silverado wasn't my first option. But the deal was made and now I own a show worthy vehicle after ten years of customization....

LTZ Extended Cab

I always like driving my truck. It was an expensive truck to buy and it is expensive to own. How does the rearend cover rust through? Come on that should never happen. How do the cables that secure the tailgate fail on a $50K truck. This truck does not have a 100,000 mile on it and it does not have a lot of salt miles on it. I think I’ve replaced the rotors 4 times on this truck. Probably my biggest peeve are the aluminum rims that just turn to crap and leak air. These are simple quality things that GM should be ashamed of putting out on the market for a company that has been in the business for a hundred years you would think they could figure things like this out or take responsibility for when you have paid them 50K.

Good truck, some flaws!

The truck is dependable and has never let us down. Current mileage is 107K. Biggest issue has been oil consumption due to the Adjustable Fuel management system that shuts off 4 cylinders under light loads. Cylinders 1 and 5 have been fouling plugs every 10K miles since the odometer hit around 50K. Oil usage is around 1 quart for every 1,500 miles. This is way off base for newer vehicles with tighter build tolerances and technology. This is a common issue on the LS motors with the AFM system. The second issue is the rear drum brakes. No matter what, they have always squealed. Should have had disc brakes on the rear. I would imagine they might even be cheaper to install from the factory than the "ancient tech" drums. I can't understand the logic behind it. The third problem has been driveline slack. It has always clunked going into gear from park and has a slight clunk when taking off from a dead stop. It seems the yoke fits the tail shaft too loosely. The dealer kept saying it was "with specifications" and would pack it with grease to minimize the clunk. Pure baloney - - -other than those three gripes, good solid truck. Yes, I would buy another.
