Old horses are worth taking care of

Bought her off my boy in 2018 with 89 grand on her. Put 100 grand on her so far. Replaced: throttle body, evap coil, MAF, battery cables. Nothing else but tires, brakes, and oil. I pull a 12ft trailer loaded with wood and tools.

Tough Truck

Built to last! Quality and Durability! Worked at GM Truck Engineering when this product was maturing. Lots of Planning, Testing, deadlines and of course many meetings. I euphemistically refer to our truck as the Beast!!

Still going strong at 175k miles

I bought this truck from my son, who bought it used. It had 89k when I bought it, and it's still going strong at 175k. I have towed trailers, hauled so many bricks I thought I broke the suspension, and used it as a daily driver for 5 years. Great longevity and consistent service.

Chevy 2500 HD 4x4 Work Truck

I bought this truck to pull a horse trailer. I have 234,000 miles on it and it's running strong, doesn't burn oil and the A/C blows cold. I've always used full synthetic motor oil and done routine preventive maintenance as required.

Surprised by how tough

Bought this truck from my son in 2017 with 89k mi. I thought it might help me do more work than my tiny Nissan. Man, what a sea change. Its big v6 is more powerful than I thought. I now have 168k, and she's strong as an ox. Put 4 new tires on her today, plus brakes. Gonna keep this horse for awhile. Best truck I've ever owned.

Reliable and Comfortable

The truck has been with me for many years and only had one major problem at 138,000 miles which was probably unique to this truck when ever it was put together. Cost of this repair was $2,200 but other than it is always up for road trips and provides a comfortable ride to the passengers regardless in the front or rear seats

Nice truck, poor engine design

I bought this truck in 2009 brand new. It was an extremely reliable vehicle until about 150,000 miles. I collapsed two AFM lifters on this motor which grooved out my camshaft and basically ruined my engine. Research revealed that this year 5.3 L engine is a defective design and there’s currently a class action lawsuit against GM for this. The AFM system (4 cylinder shut off) is garbage….so buyers beware. Also the electronic door locks/window regulators are extremely prone to failure. That’s what u get when US corporations farm out component manufacturing to Mexico.

The Best vehicle I owned

This truck has served me well. 185,000 miles and still going on longer trips. But it will require some repairs. Normal So go buy one. I am now looking to upgrade. It will be the same type of truck. That’s how well this served me.

Awesome!

I love the way I feel sitting in the seats. The way the engine sounds is amazing. Very pleased with my overall comfort and the way the vehicle drives and performs. One issue that I have noticed is that the air conditioner will blow very hot even in the ac position.

Great truck needs some modification

This is a great truck but there are few things that should be modified like water seaping under the driver side mat, please it is stupid just fix that issue. Spare tire under truck gets rusted and can’t take out. Come on you can do better

It's a 3500 crew cab dually

It has been very trustworthy since purchased new Dec 23, 2009. It has hauled 4000# of truck camper all around Lake Superior, and 2 round trips to Alaska and back. Normal maintenance is all it has needed. I'm happy to own this heavy duty pickup.

Dependable

Bought my 2009 Chevy used with 55,000 miles on it in 2010. Great vehicle with a strong build. Through the years I have to repair some thigs due to regular wear and tear but it hasn't been expensive fixes. Still feels a very secured vehicle

My pickup
