Happy Convert!
I recently purchased a 2024 GV80 3.5 Prestige Elite Matterhorn White, after driving Cadillac Escalades (ESV Platinum) for 25 years. It was a huge decision for me to downsize to a midsize SUV. I did my research, visited my local dealership more times than I care to admit and finally bit the bullet. I can honestly say I am very happy with my decision so far. It's been 2 months now and I have taken one longer road trip in the car (5 hours) and lots of 2-hour highway quick trips. Some of my observations so far would be that it is very "zippy", handles the road very well, takes curves great, gets lots of double takes and compliments. It does feels much lighter than my previous car, I don't feel as invincible as I did before, but I expected that going in. It does blow around quite a bit on the road (wind), and I was not expecting that. It is very comfortable, and I am OK with less cargo room. I have not suffered due to the size. I have zero complaints about the dashboard, dials, reach, or anything to do with the interior. it is always a learning curve when you change brands. Everything is great. Genesis was very thorough with the design. They did a great job as you would expect. I went with the 3.5 over the 2.5. I was about to pull the trigger on a 2.5 that I went to look at because it was the last 2023 on the lot and there were some great incentives/rebates on it. Someone bought it just in front of me, so I decided to go with the 3.5, a 2024 that just came off the truck that day. I really think the 2.5's are a little more fuel efficient which I wanted, but I do love my car. Since I have driven my car for 2 months, I think I am getting 18 to 21 mpg on the highway. Not sure in town. I have not done research on my in-town driving. I like that the dash keeps track of it. I do seem to fill up a lot. This kind of bothers me but obviously the tank is much smaller than my escalade. I think it is 21 gallons. The 3.5 does have lots of "pick-up. You don't have to worry as you pull onto the highway. The GV80 is a great looking vehicle and I have no regrets about my decision to downsize. I am extremely happy with my new car and the Genesis brand is very impressive. They definitely have gone above and beyond already on service/follow/up than Cadillac ever did with any of my 5 Escalades. I must say they are off to a good start so far. Keeping my fingers crossed that it keeps up! If you are in Oklahoma, Genesis of Edmond is an amazing dealership.
