2008 Hyundai Entourage
I bought this vehicle in 2008 brand new with only 11 miles,I purchased an extended warranty for 10 years or 100,000 miles.My vehicle now has ONLY 48,750 miles on it in 7 years. Since the 3rd year signs of electronic problems started , 1st the AM/FM radio DVD player became defective and had to be replaced . 2nd since the fourth year the left front directional light started shorting out the bulb, every time it would be replaced only to last a few months then short out again, which cost me out of pocket for the replacement. Once again the bulb shorted out and was assessed by your technician as the wiring is what is causing the short out and the whole headlamp assembly needs to be replaced, and guess what ONCE AGAIN IT IS NOT COVERED BY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, so again $386.00 out of pocket expense. 3rd the left driver's sliding door to started not closing at times and at other times while driving the warning signal would go on and the dash board would indicate that the door is open even if it were not opened. Once again the technician diagnosed the sensor for the door motor as faulty,and guess what ONCE AGAIN NOT COVERED BY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, the door locks and motor is covered BUT NOT THE DOOR MOTOR SENSOR, so another paid another $360.00 out of pocket.
I thought i was purchasing a vehicle that would live up to its ratings for it quality manufacturing and safety, but now I have come to find out that this is not the case. I CLEARLY FEEL THAT THESE ISSUES ARE ARISING FROM AN ELECTRONIC DEFECT WITHIN THE CAR. THESE PROBLEMS ARE NOT DUE TO WEAR AND TEAR, AS PER THE MILEAGE YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THAT A VEHICLE WITH ONLY 48,750 MILES IN 7 YEARS SHOULD NOT BE HAVING THESE ISSUES AS YOUR QUALITY MADE WOULD STATE. I WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED A VEHICLE WITH THE EXPECTATION OF IT COSTING ME SO MUCH OUT OF POCKET FOR REPAIRS IN SUCH A SHORT TIME AND WITH AN EXTENDED WARRANTY POLICY STILL IN EFFECT FOR ANOTHER 3 YEARS. RIGHT NOW THE BACK AUTOMATIC LIFT DOOR CLOSES WITH A HARD BANG. Wondering what will be next. Overall I love the Vehicle BUT VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE ELECTRONIC DEFECTS. I have all every service record from Checkered Flag Hyundai Virginia Beach, Virginia which is where I take the vehicle for servicing.
