2020 Palisade
Overall great vehicle with good looks, abundant features, good performance, and value. Vehicle did have an unpleasant smell (like onions) that persisted. Hyundai finally issued a bulletin that identified the issue as materials in the headrest and did a fix under warranty which help but didnt totally eliminate the issue. Front camera also malfunctioned which affected all the driver assist features.....Hyundai fixed under warranty. I appreciate that Hyundai owned those problems and fixed them so to that point, we were extremely happy with the car. The low rating is due to the poor design of the windshield, which cracks with the most minor of impacts, and would be of no consequence on any of the other 15 vehicles I have owned. With less than 20K miles, I am on my second windshield......even worse is that they cost over $1,300 each due to the cameras/sensors embedded and the second replacement windshield is now chipped and cracking from an insignificant impact. It is 100% a design/quality issue on the vehicle and a quick internet search will confirm how widespread the issue is. Also, Hyundai is making money on this because after you buy their windshield for $1,000, you have to pay the dealer an additional $300+ to reprogram the sensors. Prior to this experience, I have never heard of a windshield over $450. If Hyundai owned this issue and fixed the design, I would probably give the Palisade 4+ stars. For those that think the problem is driving style or excessive debris on roads, just remember I told you so......I am up to $2,600 with less than 20K miles on the car.
