Something different for sure!
Took a 2018 Santa Fe Sport 2.4L AWD “base trim” in Nightfall Blue with a Beige interior, with the addition of the Value Pkg ($1,900) and the Premium Pkg ($2,900) on a 3-Year lease. Currently standing at 4166 miles when writing this, in said car hah, with the first interval done a little over 3600 miles at a local Hyundai dealership! Coming from an older Genesis Coupe 3.8 to this was two different worlds. Obviously I was use to the Genesis’s performance-oriented layout which included a big V6, with more than enough passing-power for highways and green lights alongside a beautiful orchestra all packed in a “3.8-sized box”! Additionally having a rear wheel derived drivetrain gave me a driving sensation like no other cars before than! Well.. that de-railed suddenly, Haha! Back to the present! With the Sport’s 2.4L I-4, producing 184 hp and 178 lb-ft, gives an easy to drive vehicle! Pairing that to the AWD system equipped on my example solidifies that statement, more-so during the winters here in the Northeast. Stepping inside the Santa-Fe Sport, I find several features included on the Value and Premium Pkgs to be beneficial for myself. Getting around 30-mpg on my commutes are something to feel good about for sure! More intuitive displays and systems feel more user-friendly and gives more customization for a personal touch! The Drive-Mode selector is neat, however was initially confused why my mpg was “terrible” when in “normal” mode versus ECO giving me the 30 mpg mentioned. I guess nothing big though. Decently priced at a local dealer for me to try this out. Things look promising from here on with any strange happenings as of now. This is a good transistion from the Genesis Coupe to when I will purchase a Genesis G80 Sport or the upcoming G70, in order to get my hands on a driving nirvana of sophistication along with motorsport-inspired characteristics all in a 10-year powertrain warranty-sized package! Thanks for this opportunity for me to review your newest MY Santa Fe Sport! Until next time!
