Santa Fe #2
This is the second Santa Fe for me. I had my first one for 9.5 years and it was a trouble free, comfortable dream car. My new one is comfortable, with more creature comfort features and handles the highway like a dream. One of the things I have always liked about the Santa Fe is how quite the cabin is compared to other cars it has much less road noise so I can enjoy the stereo or hear myself think. I do have to say my '09 had far more cargo space which is important to me because of my dog crates. The lowered roof line and head space reduced capacity a lot. In my '09 I had 2 rows of seats which I prefer but was not an option on this mode (note to Hyundai, not everybody wants or needs third row seats). Also lost is the "trunk" space which was great while traveling. These are differences I accepted when I decided to buy the '18 model, but I do miss the older capabilities. The car almost drives itself and handles with ease through mountains even in ice and snow conditions. The instrument clusters are easy to manage and reach. The owner manual needs to be refined as it left our several how to use instructions, Like how to turn on the heated outside mirrors, or how to properly engage the downhill speed controller, which I tried to turn on while on a steep downgrade and it would not engage when I pushed the button. Apparently it only engages when you start the car well before you reach the steep downgrade.
