Hyundai Sonata

My Hyundai Sonata has performed very well and reliably. There have been few issues and they were resolved easily. The after-market radio/Clock/GPS/rear-camera/CD player has been unreliable. It has been limited for the past few years, and it stopped working recently. The dealer reset it and some of the functions were working again, but the buttons and clock do not work.

Reliabity

I’ve had my Sonata for several years now & with proper maintenance it has always been very reliable. When The time comes to buy another, it will probably be another Sonata. It’s a very comfortable ride.

Comfortable and rrliable

I love the quiet EV mode and the gas mileage it affords. The driver seat is very comfortable but the front passenger seat is awful. It sits so low that it feels like you are riding on the pavement. The Heater/a.c. is also a less than optimal. Turn on the defrost and you will automatically bring in outside air ( cold or hot and often full of noxious fumes from buses, trucks, etc. There is no heat setting or button. You have to turn off the a.c. and crank up the temperature.It has plenty of leg room and the backseat is confirtable. Don't have a fender-bender, as it is expensive to fix.

Sonata

My. Sonata is a wonderful car. I would buy another one in the future. It has been very reliable, comfortable,and has great gas mileage. It's also one of the best looking cars on the road. I bought my car 2011 and so far I only change my oil , tires and windscreen wipers.

So far so good

In the beginning I had some doubts about the Vehicle but so far I’m very impressed. The style and performance are very good. The gas mileage well can complain. Excellent radio system and the A/C is not bad at all.

My Hyundai Sonata

It styling sleet look, dependable and reliable. No problem with the car for 6 years. Classy to drive compare to Mercedes 300 series. Value for the price that I paid. Loaded with amenities and the drive is still smooth after 6 years.

2012 Sonata

They say that you get what you pay for. In the case of the Sonata, you get more than you paid for when compared to other comparable vehicles. The car handles and performs better than expected in terms of gas mileage, cornering, turning radius, acceleration, transmission shift points. The latter was an unexpected surprise because I have occasion to travel some very hilly, switchback, steep grade mountain roads. Pervious cars from other manufacturers struggled with these climbs and descents and would force me to put the cars automatic transmission into a manual mode. With the Sonata, the car climbs and descends the mountain roads with clean shifts without having to change to a manual mode. While 34mpg on freeway trips is typical, I have at times on flat roads achieved over 40mpg. Overall, it is one of the best cars I have ever owned.

my Sonata Hybrid

I love the mileage I am able to get out of a tank of gas. I am usually able to fill up just once a month with driving in town. I once took a trip to San Diego and made a rest stop on the other side of Long Beach. I took the opportunity to fill up the gas tank and I was surprised that it only took a little over 3 gallons of gas to fill up. Despite the great gas mileage, it also is very responsive when I need to accelerate.

2012 Hyundai Sonata @ 56K has so many issues! A car at 56K shouldn't have these many issues!

If I could go back in time I would not have bought this car. I bought this car because I like the design more than the Toyota Camry or even the Accord. I had concerns about the reliability of Hyundai but thought the warranty would cover everything, I was wrong. Overall I am not happy with this car and I would really concern not ever buy a Hyundai vehicle again, and I'm Korean! No Korean pride here.

Good value

No major problems not handled by warranty. Upgraded from an Elantra that was very reliable. Very satisfied with my purchase. Good value. Only issue is lower than expected mileage, road noise and sound system.

Rating the ride

Overall great. The driver side seating only elevates minimally that requires me to sit on 2 pillows. The passenger side does not adjust and riders complain about the lowness. The seating up front is the only complaint.

Sparkling Red Ruby

I did my homework before looking for a new car and the Hyundai Sonota seem to fit my needs. The minute I seen this car I knew I liked it, then I drove it and experienced all the bells and whistles and fell in love with the sharpest looking car I've ever had! Bonus is that this car is over 140,000 miles and no maintance issues ever! She's a dream with amazing gas mileage. My goal is atleast 200,000 and have no doubt about making it! Thank You Hyndia for such a gift!

This model runs well and is pretty low maintenance!

Overall the car runs very smoothly with a minimum of troubles. Battery lasted 4 years and tires lasted 50,000 miles; brakes also lasted 50,000 miles. Gas mileage is OK although a bit less than the blended average suggested ( I get 22 to 24 mpg in city driving and about 28 to 30 mpg on the highway.) Car and window sit a little lower to the ground than I had expected and was used to - maybe would be a good option to have an adjustable seat height.and to raise the window height a bit.

DON’T BUY

I would NOT recommend this car to anyone! I’m not too sure what perfect location others have gotten their cars from, but mine specifically and a few people close to me are HORRIBLE! I’ve had the car maybe 3 years and I’ve made complaints since 1 month of having it. I should’ve returned it then. Hyundai doesn’t want to own up to this far being faulty and I’m over it! I’m sure to tell any and everyone i know or run into, not to purchase this vehicle. Engine replacements, electrical issues (radio freezes, having to disconnect battery just to fix, light bulbs doing out after JUST being replaced), recalls on major parts every year and I believe the car is a safety hazard. I’m over it and Hyundai. Still waiting on my call back from the company too! It’s not just my vehicle, others that i personally know what the SAME issues. Hyundai doesn’t seem to care. Once i figure out my CURRENT issues with Hyundai, I highly doubt I’ll purchase another. Trust me, I won’t recommend it to anyone.

Excellent Warranty

When gasoline price was rising almost $5.00 per gallon, my SUV was traded in with Hyundai Sonata Hybrid in 2012, it has been reliable with good performance; good power and saving $ on gas a lot. And the power battery, worth around $7K to be replaced free compare to the Toyota Hybrid after 7 yrs of use. The best warranty!!

I am Absolutely in love with my Sonata, it has the black interior and the blue dash board lights which is my favorite color. I wish that the person before me didnt scratch the paint on the hood and crack the side view mirror but either way I am Still in love.
